Description: Tower Tandoori is the oldest Indian restaurant in Bermondsey and still uses a traditional, charcoal-fired tandoor lit in 1978 and still smouldering! Established in the same site on Tower Bridge Road and run by the same family for 30 years, the Indian tandoori cuisine at Tower Tandoori is truly refined. Recently refurbished with an interior design inspired by the shady, serene courtyards of Indian Palaces, Tower Tandoori's menu has also had an overhaul. The Head Chef has drawn his inspiration from the great traditions of the Moghul Empire and blended them with the best of Indian and English cuisine developed over the last 30 years. Tower Tandoori offers al fresco dining during the summer season and there is a fully-stocked bar with an extensive selection of international wines, beers, cocktails and Indian beverages. The restaurant is also available for private dining, family gatherings and special occasions such as birthdays, corporate events and product launches.

Five of us went for dinner on a weekend evening. We ordered a number of starters and main courses to share. Even though we ordered at least one dish per person., there just wasn't enough food. Usually that would mean that we would feel that the food was great but we should have ordered more. Not the case here. All of us were of the opinion that the food was average at best. It could pass as a nothing-special local curry house if it wasn't for the above average prices.

The service was good except they claimed ignorance at the Phantom card we had booked the meal with. After much discussion they accepted it. However even with the Phantom card discount, we went hungry and feeling that the food was average at best.

There are other much better options if you are looking for Indian food in this area. Indian Fusion also on the same road towards the bridge is more authentic and has a great service. The Bengal Clipper in Shad Thames is more upmarket and specialises in milder curries.

Visted Tower Tandoori after scanning local eating places. We're over visiting and my wife wanted to savour a traditional curry.
She was definately not disappointed with a visit to Tower Tandoori. The food was excellent and the service first class. We all shared a starter which was lovely. The main courses were first class and all were cleared in no time.
Value for money, popular venue which was getting ever busier as we left at 8:30pm. We will definately visit again on our next trip to London.

This restaurant puts many other more fancy Indian restaurants in Tower Bridge to shame. The decor is contemporary and very beautiful. The staff and service is excellent, always happy to help and always spot on with the correct orders and with the timings.

Me and my wife have gone as a couple and also with our young baby, and every occasion we have been treated well, and accommodated.
Finally the food. Simply stunning!!! The food served here is excellent and presented perfectly. It’s quite pricy but I can now see why, it was all well worth it!!

Would be visiting again very soon!!
