We visited Flordita for our Anniversary night out. We booked through their online booking & our table wasn't reserved. We found this out because, we were running a bit late due to tube delay, and rang them to let them know. However, they rounded us up a table by the time we arrived from Holborn Station. Immediately, atmosphere is electrifying & rhythmic, almost reminded me of a scene from the movie Scarface, minus the violence & illegal shenanigans.

I highly recommend you have dinner elsewhere, the menu is limited, portions small & lacked flavour. We ordered the Spanish Charcuterie, empanadas & the quesadilla. The quesadilla was soft & bland, the charcuterie platter was ok, the empanadas good, but small & had very little filling. We didn't order cocktails, as we had plenty on our earlier pub tour (Mind the Gap Tour.)

Now the band is another story! They were an eclectic bunch, lively & entertaining! The dance floor is entirely too small for such a large establishment. If you like salsa music, you will find it hard to stay in your seat unless, you have sore feet from heels like I did :/

We look forward to returning for to enjoy cocktails, dancing & explore the bar area.

I can't say that the food is really good but the atmosphere is great. Good cuban salsa on Thursday and often live band. In the center of Soho, London

Very poor quality food. Very disappointed. Ceveche was worst I've ever had. Tasted more like a prawn cocktail. No hint of citrus or scotch bonnet. Excellent service staff but couldn't make up for bad food.

Also the acoustics/ sound system is terrible. Worst of all possible world; can't hear the band clearly but can't hear yourself speak.

Massively overpriced. Would not recommend.

The worst cut of meat ever! Tough!
Plus they forgot the side dish included with the main for the whole table.
Our waiters were very nice and sympathetic though.

I first discovered the place back in 2008 when I got back from Havana and wanted to find the London version of the El Floridita restaurant/bar.

It is located in Soho, so do get ready to see loads of kissing gays on Wardour Street whilst walking towards it. The restaurant is much bigger than that in Havana and is structured in a different manner. In Havana you walk into a bar which serves the world's best daiquiris with a band playing music and a restaurant being at the back. There is no dance floor in Havana. In London you walk into a typical overcrowded London bar where you can here no word because of people screaming and shouting like it is supposed to be done in London. The restaurant is downstairs - a little dance floor is downstairs as well. The establishment is pretty good in securing bands from Cuba on a regular basis. I enjoy coming there on an odd occasion. Casa del Habano is to the left of Floridita - if you fancy a big fat real Cuban cigar, it's very easy to get it from a proper distributor. :-)
