“Good value for London”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2013

This is a bit like the old greasy spoon cafe's. There was traders and locals eating in there. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable.

“A disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

The fading signage outside, a fairly dour welcome on crossing the threshold and an empty cafe apart from one person who left shortly afterwards, did not seem a promising start. The food, when it arrived was OK, but no more than than that, and at a considerably higher price than better breakfasts I had eaten earlier in the week south of the river.

For me, taking breakfast in diners like this is as much about atmosphere as the food and this place, sadly, had none.

“Did exactly what it said on the Tin :-)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

We divided on this place after seeing it was in the vicinity on trip advisor. Nice and quiet, cheap and good food, the full breakfast was just what the Dr ordered and set us up for our day ahead.

“More than just great breakfasts...................”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

Yes, as the other reviews say, the breakfasts are great. But do try the other meals, really good 'cafe' food. They also do 'take away' including roasts etc., We tried takeaway fish and chips and the fish was excellent. A nice welcome, good food and reasonable prices, give it a try...

“A prefect example of how affordable dining should be.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012 via mobile

This place was recommended by a local shop worker and since we couldn't get a table at usual CG haunt tried here instead.
The food is all homemade although possibly reheated as Shepherds Pie had that microwave char on the bottom (only slight) but all the pasta dishes were nothing short of perfect.
Also the close proximity to the theaters, concert halls and exhibitions means there's often a famous face for you to recognise.
Without a doubt will return here as it ticks all the boxes with much aplomb!
