I'm stay there very often for business and the quality of services is always in the same 5 star level.

I struggled with a 3 or 4 but settled on a 3 because of a fire alarm in the middle of the night (3 am). The alarm was not necessarily the hotel's fault but the hotel did not make any attempt whatsoever at a goodwill gestures towards the guests despite sleep being almost impossible once back in the room after a 40 min interruption in the middle of the night.

Good:
- Easy checkin process - maybe I had low expectations given the other review comments
- Good location if you have business near Bank street and also convenient to Liverpool station for tourist purposes. Great vibe around the hotel location.
- I was given a nice size room on the top floor as I requested one with low noise levels and that turned out to be true
- Nice touch on the complimentary soft drinks and snacks

Bad:
- Tiny windows in the room and hence very little light
- One of the worst shower designs - angled ceiling over the bath tub without any way to hook the shower to one location. Led to water all over the floor
- Noise when turning on the water/shower - I was not affected as I was on the top floor but I can imagine the noise on the floor below. Almost felt guilty turning on water early in the morning

Net-net i would have given the hotel a 4 if not for the fire alarm and lack of any gesture from management.

What a wonderful surprise, the staff at this hotel were so warm and accommodating. I was intimidated about traveling alone in London, they went out of their way to make me feel at home. They arranged a cab for me, made dinner reservations at a wonderful Indian restaurant, gave great instructions to local historical sites. My room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Would certainly stay here again, and will recommend it to others.

After a bad flight from the states, I arrived at the hotel and was greeted warmly by Pedro. He offered me a drink (I has a refreshing berry infused water) sat me down and checked me in on the iPad. It was a nice way to get me calm and settled. Pedro then gave me my room key and a card that had the hotel phone number with instructions that I could call him from anywhere in London if I needed anything. He's flawless.

My room was so nice. Quiet, clean and very comfortable. I loved the deep tub and the coffee/tea making facilities. The wi-if was strong. The toilet took a little getting used to, but the hotel has a card explaining their system. Everyone I encountered on staff that afternoon was so polite and nice. I loved my round window. The art in the public areas looks great and something about the whole property is soothing.

After a good nights sleep, I went to check out just before noon. The lobby was a bit chaotic with front desk agents (guest associates? Not sure what they're called these days) running around trying to check guests out and store luggage. There was no line so people who had been waiting were skipped if another guest showed up and wanted to check out. As luck would have it, Pedro magically appeared and took care of me. To me, he's flawless and so is the Andaz. I will stay again.

I find it really hard to make up my mind. It didn't get off to a good start. Instead of a real reception area they have a bunch of guys stand around with iPads to check you in. Call me old fashioned but I just found his weird. Worse, they do t have a concierge. I tried to get help renting a car for a week of travel outside of London. Apparently that was too much to ask for from the clerk as well as the colleague he asked for help. Promised me to get back to me which he never did so I made arrangements online. Which wasn't easy because the wifi signal in the room was extremely weak and dropped on a regular basis. I shouldn't hold the fire alarm that woke us up in the middle of our first night against them...

On the upside, soft drinks and snacks in the room fridge were free of charge and got refilled every night. Excellent! The room itself was nicely equipped and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is right next to Liverpool Street station which has outstanding connections to all places in central London. A number of reasonable pubs for a late evening pint in walking distance.

All in all, considering the pricey room rates I simply expect better service, which explains my mediocre rating.

I stayed in a regular room before, but this time was in one the suites. Bedroom with small couch, huge bathroom (shower and quick filing tub), and office area.Love that the snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are free in the minibar (cold lemonade on a hot day is great). Bed was as good as a heavenly Westin bed. Service was some of the best that I have had (on par with my top experience at Conrad Tokyo). BA misplaced my luggage for quite a few days and they were great with making shopping suggestions. Did not eat at the hotel, so have no opinion there. There is a Pret a Manger across the street from the hotel and tons of fast food in the Liverpool station. Turn left out of hotel and walk maybe twenty feet to Bishopsgate and cross to the other side of Bishopsgate, still turning left and walk around five minutes there is a Pizza Express (you will walk by Waitrose grocery and lots of other pubs/places to eat as well. About ten minutes to Old Spitalfields Market.

Before I booked the Andaz, I was debating between this location and the Hyatt Churchill Portman Square. I just needed one night to stay and had some points to burn. Being that I am young, I decided to choose the Andaz as I felt the Hyatt Churchill would be to stuffy for me even though I would only be staying for one night. The location is great, right next to Liverpool St. Station which also happens to have a 24hr McDonalds just outside of it. Walking wise, it was a mere two minutes from the tube to the lobby of the hotel which was also a plus. There is no typical front desk for you to check in at but a bunch of people walking around with iPads to check you in. The clerk and I sat on a couch while she checked me in and even brought me a glass of water. She was quite pleasant and as a Hyatt Platinum even upgraded me to a larger corner room. While these maybe considered suites by hotel standards, to me it was just a larger room but still a nice touch for my one night stay.

Mind you this is not your typical big box, cookie cutter hotel but an old railway hotel that had been converted into this boutique type hotel. However on the inside, everything was super modern and the room was the same with a few touches of old school classic like the shower controls and towel rack. One thing I enjoy is the complementary non alcoholic/snacks minibar in the room. While it was not stocked with the usual minibar goodies, it did have a few sodas, bottles of water and some hipster type snacks. However my absolute favorite thing was the bed. I have spent 100's of nights in hotels over the past few years because of work and this bed was by far and away the most comfortable mattress I had ever slept on. It took forever for me to get out of bed that morning to get ready and catch my flight.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and only wish I could have spent more time here. The location, staff and bed all make it worth picking this Hyatt property over the other one in town.
