We had a great stay here. Staff are excellent. We had a slight problem in that the ceiling started leaking water from room above bath overflowing. Within 30 minutes we had been moved to a Suite on the same floor with complimentary wine. Staff were very apologetic and attentive. We were well looked after.

They must hate this comparison, but it is still the best description - Andaz is for Hyatt what W is for Starwood. Great proprety, located just in a middle of a London financial district, trendy and modern and probably a bit more chic / less 'crazy trendy' a W would be. An old building nicely refurbished with very modern interior and well designed rooms, few restaurants and great fitness center. While I still prefer Center/West London, if your business takes you here it is one of the best options around !

Being a huge fan of Andaz properties, I was excited to finally get the chance to stay at Andaz Liverpool Street - the modern-day incarnation of the Great Eastern Hotel. As with all Andaz properties, the lobby and public areas are extremely modern and stylish, which I love, especially when juxtaposed against the 19th century exterior of the building. My experience, however, did have a few hiccups. First the good: The service at the hotel is impeccable. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. The location is great if you doing business in the City - all of my meetings were just a short walk from the hotel. The public areas of the hotel are picture perfect. The rooms - even the ones on Liverpool Street - are surprisingly quiet given the level of noise and construction outside. And I love that the hotel allows Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond members to have their free breakfast via room service. Now for the not-so-good, check-in took much longer than anticipated (~20 minutes) processing my request for a Diamond suite upgrade, as the original check-in agent was unfamiliar with Diamond upgrades and was suggesting he needed to deduct point from my Gold Passport account. The rooms/suites are a bit quirky in that they are all different. The first suite I was given on the 6th floor was stylish, but with a very small bathroom and with odd, porthole-type windows that made the room extremely dark and without any discernible view. I asked to be moved and was given a suite with a completely different layout on the 3rd floor. While the second suite was much brighter and with high ceilings, the "suite" part consisted of a second room, almost the exact size of the bathroom, with a sofa and chair, but no TV or anything else in the room. Really, it was just wasted space, as I can't imagine anyone would opt to spend time in that room - I certainly didn't - I think I ventured in there twice during my 4 night stay and only for a few minutes each time. I probably should have just opted to remain in a Large King, rather than using a suite upgrade, on this trip. I thought about asking to move again, but I just didn't have the time or energy after having moved once already. Finally - and I'll admit, this is a nit that was probably specific to my room - but the red shag throw rug in the main living area (over the wall-to-wall carpeting) would not stay flat - it kept buckling, and as a result, I kept tripping over it. I'm not one to trip over things, but I tripped over the throw rug several times a day. Overall though, the hotel is a very nice property. Pricey - even by London standards - but comfortable, modern, and efficient.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us. I was pleased that you found the service and standards to your liking. Your comment about the different rooms withing the same category is indeed indicative of this magnificent grade II listed building; no two rooms are identical and thus we see a great variation of feedback and differing preferences according to personal taste. Although somewhat charming, this can present challenges for us, nontheless, we value feedback such as yours which helps us to maintain and improve our facilities and services. Once again, sincere thanks and we do hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the not too distant future. Best regards, Arnaud

Overall, very nice hotel. Easy to get around London from location. Close to London Tower. Somewhat more of a business district from what I could gather. We had 2 rooms - each different. One larger and one smaller. Both very clean and with nice bathrooms/showers although different in each. Had issue daily with key cards and that was only hiccup per se.

Room Tip: Try to get exterior facing room ours we inside and expect outside are even nicer.
