I walked in the restaurant with my dad and we were looking for a quick Italian meal. We sat down and there were four tables including us. We sat down and the waiter gave us the menu without asking us if we want to drink anything. He just gave us the menu then walked off. I had a look at the menu and wanted to order a pasta and a pizza. Then I looked for the waiter and he was no where to be found. Then another five minutes I saw him then I waved at him. It took a while for him to see me but he didn't come over straight away as he was helping another table. I understood so I waited for him to finish serving the table and I saw him standing at the till doing whatever. Because I was really in a rush so I waved at him again. He came over looking annoyed and told me that in this country people don't wave at the waiter, they will just have to wait. WTF? I am a sales at a big firm and I dont know how strada train their employees but this is not the attitude that a waiter should have. I immediately left the restaurant. Really DISAPPOINTED and I will NEVER come again.

We were disappointed with our experience here but will not be totally negative. To start, they were able to find us a table for an early evening meal although we had not booked beforehand. We only wanted a relatively light meal so ordered the Penne Carbonara and the Seafood Linguine. These were not good, the pasta really did need seasoning. My seafood dressing was absolutely as an Italian would prepare it, very light on dressing but heavy on the pasta. My dressing was a mere 5 prawns and 4 small mussels and I could neither detect any capers or taste of chilli on my dish. I managed about half of my pasta whilst my wife managed slightly more of hers. On the plus side, their choice of Merlot wine to serve was excellent. The ambience was spoilt for us by having a kids party going on just two or three tables away for which the staff apologised. The final straw was the very stiff to open double set of doors to enter and exit. They have the handles very close to the door edge so if one pushes one door past the other, one gets bruised fingers so which ever direction going through those doors, always pull any slightly open door that is towards one. Push it, or pull the other, and that is when the fingers get wrapped. All in all, a mixed experience that we have no wish to re-visit.

Bit of a mixed experience. They forgot to order a starter which then came so late everyone else had finished theirs. There was a slight apology but no attempt to compensate. The toilets are down very steep steps, the locks on backwards, one out of order, the toilet roll on a hook overhead and out of sight. Very slow to bring bill. The food is nice enough and good value wth a Taste Card.

I was staying at the Kingsway Hall hotel and wanted to eat locally. I entered the restaurant without a reservation in the evening and was shown to a table. The staff provided me with a menu and took my drink order. The entire experience was unrushed and they appeared to have several meal offers on. My meal arrived and the food was ok. I ordered a dish from the special board and it arrived somewhat dried and over baked. I would not go out of my way to eat here again.

We hadn't booked but we're able to walk in at 5pm and had the 3 courses for £14.95 menu which is available to 7pm. Enjoyable meal with good service, couldn't fault it.
