Description: Originally an oyster warehouse, Scott's has been serving up its legendary seafood since 1851. A conveniently short walk from Green Park and Bond Street tube stations, this Mayfair mainstay uses burgundy leather banquettes and subdued lighting to create an air of old-school elegance which reflects the restaurant's chic clientele. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and highlighted by the exquisite bar topped with onyx and finished in stingray skin, the revamped interior of Scott's still carries the 1960's glamour of yesteryear. Traditional fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, although seasonal meat and game make an appearance. Atlantic Halibut, Dover Sole and Lobster have proven to be popular choices, and there is also a Roasted Shellfish platter for two to share. The famous oyster bar with its three-metre crustacean display offers a more relaxed dining area and there is also an art deco-style private dining room, ideal for canapé receptions, press launches and private celebrations.

Great seafood restaurant in Mayfair, a James Bondesque kind of place. Its pricy but chique and the food is amazing. Never too impressed by the service though. Reserve well in advance.

This was my first trip to London, and my husband's third. I knew from a Frommer's Book that this particular restaurant was close to our wonderful JW Marriott Grosvenor Square, and according to reviews, on every celebrity's "speed dial"..... Well, apparently, we weren't Celebrities but Commonors. I entered the Maitre D's area with my on-line reservation, and he quickly viewed and said I hadn't confirmed, and tore it up in front of me. (Note, he didn't toss it, crumble it, but Tore It Up!) The time was 5:30 p.m. and they weren't at all busy, so he seated us in the back of the restaurant at an adjoining table with a young man in leather (mind you, it was July). When it was obvious we were being looked at uncomfortably, we asked to move, and they stated the only table was in the front, no cloth, ready for breakfast. I wanted to leave!

Disappointing food , starter of dressed crab was poor to the point of tasteless so much so I had to add my own seasoning. Lobster spaghetti was much better with pasta cooked aldenti and enough lobster to justify the price. All in all an expensive average lunch.

Visited Scott's with friends and requested a table outside, as the weather was glorious. We were duly allocated a table for four outside. The only downside is if there are smokers dining at the same time - something to bear in mind if you are not a smoker. However, the food was excellent with a great choice. The service was excellent and most courteous. Will be returning again when next visiting London.
