The apartment we stayed in was nice and in good clean condition, but it was not the apartment that that I originally signed the rental agreement for. I signed up and paid for a place in Southwark several weeks before our trip, specifically to be near London Bridge. Two days before our trip, the rental agency (thesqua.re) switched us to a different apartment, a couple miles away in Shoreditch. It turned out to not be a big problem, though it was further away from the conference I was going to attend, making it a 30 minute walk instead of 15 minutes. If you care strongly about the specific area/location of your rental I would be wary of this agency.
That said, aside from the forced location switch their customer service was good and the place was nice. They sort of made up up for things by letting us check-in an hour early (2pm instead of the usual 3pm). I am rating their customer service as average specifically because switching us with such short notice, without any negotiation, warning or real attempt to make up for it, was not very professional and might be a problem for some people. It certainly makes me a little wary of using them again.
The place itself was nice. Everything is modern, clean and mostly in good working order. The only minor nitpicks are 1) for a "luxury" apartment the mattress felt a bit cheap and 2) as someone who likes to cook the kitchen utensils were lacking - for example, knives were VERY dull and no spatula, and 3) the ventilation fan in the bathroom did not work at all.
I am marking the "Would you recommend this vacation rental to a friend?" as a "yes" because overall it worked out ok and there is no "yes, with caveats" option, but the agency could stand some improvement in customer service.
