Location excellent, staff friendlyness excellent, coffee excellent. Unfortunately the breakfasts that we ordered were not really up to par. My wife ordered eggs & salmon royal and the bagel that they were served on was black burnt on the bottom and very bitter.

I ordered an english breakfast and the plate was about 1/3rd baked beans, had a very under-cooked egg that was still egg-white runny, the mushrooms were tasteless and rubbery like they came from a can and the tomato tasted like a big batch of tomatoes were cooked earlier in the morning and kept warm as it was very dry.

Neither of us could finish our breakfasts unfortunately.

We'd still go back if we happened to be in the area but just for a coffee and a piece of cake to sit in the outdoor views but I would give the breakfast menu a miss.

We were on our way to the British Museum and decided to have a pit stop at the Tropea and the homemade cakes were delishious, we both had tea and the teapots and cups are very small. We found the staff to be very friendly and efficient and there was a nice lunchtime atmosphere.

Looked online for somewhere to have a breakfast during a weekend stay. Found this near by in a nice location. Upon entering I found the premises to be clean and presentable.
The staff wear dressed smartly and were courteous.
The food we had was the Anglo Italian breakfast with coffee.
Very tasty. If we were ever in the area again we would re visit.

This cafe is bang in the middle of Russell Square which is other wise quite shabby. Like almost all eateries in London, this place too is very busy and bustling. It is a semi self service place that is part cafe part restaurant with a large variety of foods and beverages. The spinach pie was a tad disappointing since it was not made with phyllo sheets but some kind of bap / focaccia like bread. However, the cappuccino was excellent. Prices are reasonable by London standards.

Expensive and staff completely disorganized. The cashier made a mistake on my bill (5£ more) and didn’t even apologize by saying ‘this is the price’. He then realized and said ‘we got it right now’. Arrogance is not needed, be kind and professional. Pasta de nata COLD and toasted bread awful.
