Went to Flat White for breakfast before work and had high expectations. The coffee didn't disappoint but the food coming out 20minutes apart is pretty weak when we basically ordered the same thing. The vibe was cool if a little too cool - the waiter was way too Shoreditch to get a tap water so just grunted and pointed at a tap for us to serve ourselves. Get a takeaway coffee and head to a quiet corner of Soho would be my recommendation.

From the other reviews this place can be hit or miss. Went on a not very busy monday afternoon on my birthday thinking it'd be nice before our evening. Came in and asked a sensible question which got a reply that was verging on uninterested and rude. Didn't even offer to help us. We ordered drinks from a rather miserable looking guy that looked impatient when I was thinking about what I wanted to order (despite there being no other customers). My partner didn't realise we couldn't pay by card which resulted in having more attitude passed our way from the guy serving. (Thinking back they guy gave us a disdainful look that felt like just because we wanted to pay by card it made us part of the bourgeoisie). We paid and found a seat. We sat down feeling like we were a nuance rather than paying customers. Drinks were thrust down in front of us without actually speaking to us before or after we thanked them. My mocha was luke-warm but had a nice flavour with not much of a syrup sludge at the bottom, but was served in a water glass which could have done with a proper wash. There was an air or pretentiousness from the staff that put a cloud over our visit. Leaving we thanked the staff (purely out of politeness apposed to feeling they deserved it) who were stood around with friends/other staff chatting who ignored us further. Found a tea shop around the corner we wished we went to instead!

We went with a friend who raved about the great coffee. Both of us had coffee that came out pretty much cold, which was really disappointing. My Mocha came out in a water glass and a thick syrup collected at the bottom. We are always looking for a great new spot in London to enjoy a great cup of java, and are sad to say that this was not it.

I come to this cafe pretty regularly and always have great coffee and food. The menu is simple but tasty and the coffee strong and good. If you are from Australia or New Zealand and are looking for a decent coffee this is one spot you can rely upon. The only slightly down remark i will write is that there is not many seats so you might have to wait to sit down for that long awaited coffee.
