Description: Now in its fortieth year of service, Sale e Pepe continues to attract clientele from all over the world. Generations have come to rely on this traditional Italian trattoria just two minutes' walk from Harvey Nichols and Harrods in Knightsbridge. Guests love the consistently good cooking, using fresh ingredients, the great atmosphere and the familiar faces of the friendly Italian staff who haven't changed much in all the years Sale e Pepe has been open. Manager for over 35 years, Tony knows everyone and everyone knows Tony. Sale e Pepe is famous for its fresh dover sole, calves liver and veal chop. The pasta dishes are highly recommended too with excellent specials changing daily. The cuisine will remind you of your favourite meals in Italy.

“Lunch last Sunday”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

Regularly visit but they let us down slightly last Sunday. Atmosphere great, 8 of us spent £1100.00 but 2nd bottle of champagne was corked and that was laughed at by the manager - I believe Tony. They poured most of the bottle into 7 glasses and then said we should have told him earlier!! He refused to change although 7 glasses were all affected. I decided not to spoil our day - but they have not responded to my comment on their website. Also dover sole disappointing.

“A delightful little Italian restaurant close to the Knightsbridge shops.Food is traditionally Italian good pasta well cooked and”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Careful service of good Italian food with a wide wine list perhaps more served by the glass as we all drink less than we used to. It was full of ladies celebrating their shopping day out giving a good if a little noisy. All in all an enjoyable meal with friends

“Surprised not to be wowed!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Recommended to go there by the concierge at our hotel, we expected something special. The atmosphere was lively and bustling, which is what we had asked for, but the service was 'distracted'.
The food was nice but not exceptional for its £180 price tag (inc bottle of medium priced wine) and we left somewhat disappointed. As reviews are generally good, maybe we went on a 'off' day, but would not bother to go again to find out.

“Lunchtime break from Harrods or romantic at night....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

Back in the late 80's/early 90's an old friend used to bring his first night dates here for dinner.....romantic with a buzzy atmosphere. I tried it when I was single......a good choice. These days I drop in for the occasional lunch. The waiters here are all proper, Italian restaurant waiters.....food lovely and yet one can nip in for a quuick pasta lunch for only a couple of pounds per person more than Pizza Express.....it's a no brainer! For dinner.....book a round table (more room)!
