It’s a shame that a lot of non-Italian reviewers on here are saying the food is good quality, perhaps they have not lived or travelled to Italy and are happy to set themselves low standards. Since this chain has been sold by Carluccio himself, the quality has gone downhill. The tortelloni I ordered came swimming in oil and were quite bland. The seafood stew ordered by my partner came drowned in tomato sauce and the clams were not at all fresh (although this might be because it was a Sunday evening, I will give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that there was no fresh catch available on a Sunday). The side salad I ordered of tomato and onion was also swimming in oil and not presented very well. To make matters worse, we had to ask for the cheque three times! When the bill finally came the brunette waitress slammed the bill on our table and said “here” (no I did not raise my voice or do anything else to cause that reaction from her).
The only reason I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the pear juice was good.
