Description: Savoire Fair - rarely has a restaurant been so perfectly named. Fresh food, good wine, mellow atmosphere, satisfied staff, value for money - this traditional French bistro knows how to please and over the past nine years it's perfected the art. The mouthwatering menu reads like that of any major London restaurant - rib eye steak served on a fromage frais pancake with a brandy and mushroom sauce, for example - apart from the prices. Although the menu changes every fortnight, the big sellers such as the traditional French bourguignon and tarte tatin are faithfully there for the savouring, much to the satisfaction of the regulars, many of them celebrities and actors from the local shows and plays. Every dish is freshly prepared on the premises daily. "If we can't cook it, we don't have it," declares the owner, Max. There's only one thing for it; cancel The Ivy and try a little Savoir Faire.

This is one of the most charming restaurants I have ever been to. I went there with my best friend and my mum, and we all thought the food was amazingly good. The "Braised Lamb Shank in Madeira topped with Minted Creme Fraiche" is definitely a dish I would recommend. The service is also friendly (charming waitresses with a strong French accent), and the whole atmosphere in the restaurant is just lovely. Whether you are a fan of French food or not, this is a definite yes.

been there twice following the reviews, very disappointed ! owner must have written all the good reviews ! fois gras was uncooked, chicken lover raw inside, steak was ok but pan fried with butter, i can cook the same at home in 5 min vegetables were ok but nothing special, most deserts "finished", service with a smile but difficult to get hold of the waitress who rushes around and bounce into each other.

We ate at Savoir Faire last weekend, on New Oxford St, just further along from Oxford Circus tube and loved it! It has a wonderful French feel to it & has 2 courses for less than £20 including good bread and fresh veggies with the main course. We had mussels grilled in pernod & garlic, grilled asparagus with parmesan & chicken livers on a potato pancake. Mains were a wonderful beef bourginguon (sp!) with fabulous mash, rib-eye steak, seabass fillets on a mussel risotto. They do veggie food too. Good house wine. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely go again.

I had only just reminisced about that cute little restaurant we found a few years previous with my partner when we stumbled across it again! Savior Faire is truly a little gem. The French Bistro Decor is very authentic and the Staff are great but really the food is the star of the show! I had Kidneys to start and Belly of Pork for my mains and was delighted with both, I didnt have dessert as I was content with what I had ate but if desserts are as good as mains...
Great Value Set Menus, Nice Staff and Central Location. Well worth a visit.
