Description: Savoire Fair - rarely has a restaurant been so perfectly named. Fresh food, good wine, mellow atmosphere, satisfied staff, value for money - this traditional French bistro knows how to please and over the past nine years it's perfected the art. The mouthwatering menu reads like that of any major London restaurant - rib eye steak served on a fromage frais pancake with a brandy and mushroom sauce, for example - apart from the prices. Although the menu changes every fortnight, the big sellers such as the traditional French bourguignon and tarte tatin are faithfully there for the savouring, much to the satisfaction of the regulars, many of them celebrities and actors from the local shows and plays. Every dish is freshly prepared on the premises daily. "If we can't cook it, we don't have it," declares the owner, Max. There's only one thing for it; cancel The Ivy and try a little Savoir Faire.

If you're in the area, visit this charming little bistro as you won't be disappointed. It doesn't look anything particularly fantastic from the outside but once inside, you'll be welcomed by friendly staff & served delicious food at a reasonable price. We went for the pre-theatre dinner offer, which was very good, then had a short stroll down the road to our theatre.

Spent the weekend in London and, having just arrived at our hotel, we wanted to find somewhere casual to eat not too far away. Found this little bistro on Google, phoned up for a table and were able to go as soon as we liked. Lovely ambience, tasty, straightforward bistro food and wine, at a good price. Great find for Central London. Spent a lot of time reading the ceiling!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here, on Friday...our first time. Although all of the food and drink was excellent, I thought my wife had made the better choices. I'm looking forward to next time.
