Description: Savoire Fair - rarely has a restaurant been so perfectly named. Fresh food, good wine, mellow atmosphere, satisfied staff, value for money - this traditional French bistro knows how to please and over the past nine years it's perfected the art. The mouthwatering menu reads like that of any major London restaurant - rib eye steak served on a fromage frais pancake with a brandy and mushroom sauce, for example - apart from the prices. Although the menu changes every fortnight, the big sellers such as the traditional French bourguignon and tarte tatin are faithfully there for the savouring, much to the satisfaction of the regulars, many of them celebrities and actors from the local shows and plays. Every dish is freshly prepared on the premises daily. "If we can't cook it, we don't have it," declares the owner, Max. There's only one thing for it; cancel The Ivy and try a little Savoir Faire.

This is one of my favourite places in London. The food is great, the service friendly and efficient and it's great value. It feels like a 'real' French bistro in London.

Two of us dined here on a busy Saturday lunchtime, and we were immediately welcomed and shown to our table. We ordered off the set menu, and the food was unfailingly good - the lamb with cream and mushrooms was heavenly, while the starter of chicken liver pate was tasty and beautifully presented.

The decor and ambience here is lovely - the quotations adorning the ceiling are variously witty and inspiring, and there is a very relaxed feel to the place. The only downside was that the service was a little slow and "disengaged" - but that may simply reflect the fact that we went at a busy period. We will certainly go back.

I recently ate at the Le Bistro with a co-worker while traveling for work for dinner. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, cozy and casual with very good food and excellent service. Truly enjoyed and would return, prices very reasonable.

Real French bistro - which does not appear in many listings (but should). We have eaten here in most of the last 5 years and it is consistent in delivering real French food at good prices
