For a quick late breakfast bite between museums, Valerie Patisserie Knightsbridge is a sure safe bet. Opting for a sit-in, my husband sat along a wall plastered with posters of Paris and environs. Following a long day and night of air travel, nourishment was needed and was fulfilled with a croque monsieur and a chicken club sandwich avec crispy fries and a side salade. While not fancy or fine, VP delivers nutritious, attractive and quickly prepared fare. Every table was taken as we ate and a hefty line was forming as tourists and natives alike know a good value when they see (and taste) one. The menu is quite large for the relatively small space and sneaking a peek at nearby tables, there appears very little on the menu that is not available most hours of the day.
Service is efficient, not effusive, good quality is fair and the atmosphere is more familial than French. But you can't complain if what you see is what you get and you get a bit more than you bargain for at Valerie Patisserie.
