“Overrated”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Went yesterday for a hot choc and a couple of mini hazelnut croissants to take away. The croissants were not fresh and flaky, quite the oppostie, they were hard and the filling did not taste hazelnut at all, I threw them away straight away. The service was not great either, for something so simple as serving a hot choc and a couple of "aged" croissants. They forgot the hot choc on the surface, i could not see it, and they did not even said sorry and thank you. Quite disappointing.

I think that Pastisseries Valerie are overrated. It is a chain at the end of the day. They are miles away from the traditional French, Spanish or Italian pastisseries.

London and surroundings can afford better and more authentic pastisseries or cake shops.

“Excellent Italian Service”
Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

We were also "resting" from a visit to the V&A when we walked into this atmospheric cafe at tea time. The hot chocolate was fabulous, the coffee excellent and the pastries to die for. The staff are so friendly and efficient (special thanks to Anna for her recommendations). A menu for all times of the day will make me return for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommended.

“Great breakfast”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

We were staying at the Jumereiah hotel whose breakfast was £30 so we dropped into patisserie Valerie. I has a really nice breakfast of freshly cooked poached eggs, toast and coffee and my wife had a huge bowl of gorgeous porridge all for less than £15. Very friendly and efficiency service. The cakes look really nice will definitely be back.

“Yummy”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Wifey and I popped in for a drink and a snack to escape the crowds at the V&A cafes. Not disappointed in anyway, only sorry I wasn't hungry enough to justify sampling more.

“Wonderful breakfast at a good price”
Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

I visited yesterday as a group and we all had a delicious breakfast. I personally chose the scrambled eggs and toast which was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and generous in portion size and a fair price of £4.65. Would definitely recommend a visit for a relaxing breakfast that is good value for money.
