We went for a pre-concert meal with a bit of trepridation given some of the reviews, however we found the staff to be attentive, professional and efficient. The menu choice was good, even for a non-meateater, and delicious. It is a small restaurant area and did fill quickly, and yes there are wood floors so it was a little echoey, but we enjoyed the buzz, much nicer that eating in hushed silence. It seemed to us that it showed everyone was relaxed and enjoying their meals and the ambience. For a nice restaurant in Kensington we thought the prices were reasonable and fair for what we got. They do say that booking is advised and from the way it filled I suggest you take their advice and book your table in advance.

Very pleasant place to drop into for a drink and something to eat. Its more upmarket than a pub with a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

Coming from Hong Kong, we were looking for a convenient eating house near our conference at the RAH
There were 10 of us for lunch. A prompt service good wine and excellent food left us with such a good taste that we returned to the bar that evening - and met Liam Gallagher from Oasis
But for us the crowning glory here was the staff and especially a wonderful Brazilian waiter called Julian. His attention to us was beyond duty, well done

Booked this as a pre theatre dinner for my wife and mother-in-law before the
Ballet. The trip was a present, so we wanted a nice meal before the performance.
Unfortunately the whole meal was a disaster. Rude, inattentive staff complemented very poor quality food.
Would recommend you go somewhere else if going to the Albert Hall.

This is a lovely little gem of a dining room tucked away in the Gore Hotel. It is the combination of food and the room that make this place special. I have been here twice, once pre-concert at Royal Albert Hall and a second time just dropping in for lunch. The food is good and well portioned (not too large) - we were four the first time we went and all of us raved about our meals. The pre-theater menu provides excellent value for money and is an alternative to Royal Albert Hall, which is often booked solid well in advance. Not to mention, it's only a five minute walk to the Hall. The second time I just dropped in for lunch with my daughter and she was equally smitten. I will continue to return.
