“Good location and good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

I have been here a couple of times. I was always happy. The food is good for healthless people because it is fat at all. If you take care of your health, it should not be the good place. But this mythic place in center of Portobello road is just great located. You can appreciate portobello market on saturday or sunday. But, not for a long time because the queue is a little bit long. So, you are thanks to leave. Also, there is no sun on the small terrace that they have. And this is a bad point!
Still Enjoy your brunch!

“Kitsch diner......bit pricey!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Went in here straight after the cinema. Restaurant has a great atmosphere & is very authentic. The service was ok, the food was ok but expensive for what you got. Glad I went, but not sure I would go again.

“How can a diner run out of hot dogs?!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013

Great atmosphere and nice enough food, albeit very expensive for a diner. The main dishes came with no sides at all, so with (fantastic) chips at £5 a pop, getting a main meal is a bit on the pricey side.

The full English breakfast was good except for the weird thick bacon (more like a strip of thick belly pork), and the processed cheese mixed into the scrambled eggs - guess this is an aquired taste.

At 1pm the diner had run out of hot dogs, which was a bit of a surprise.

Service average but given the location they can get away with it. The Cinema, however is just superb!

I'd certainly go again - I think it would be a great winter venue.

“Dated American - tourists might enjoy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

The adjacent Electric cinema is fantastic, though expensive. This restaurant thinks its a diner in a movie, probably one made in the eighties. Has lost all its former charm and Notting Hillness. The menu is a hash of American standards: burgers, beefy cholesterol laden stuff, and pricy cocktails. There is a lot of noise, moneyed people posing with champagne and acting cool. If you've never been to Portobello before, and you have money to chuck around, you might love feeling part of something you probably call the in-crowd. It's convenient for pre or post film, that's it.

“Great location, stylish, food OK, service could pick up a bit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

Felt slightly let down that the diner had no diner hot dogs when we went!

Fries were delicious initially - a little too salty once you get halfway through. Eggs Benedict was lovely though - husband had bologna roll and said it wasn't great unfortunately.
