Description: Welcome to Green's Restaurant and Oyster Bar, a Great British institution in the heart of London since 1982. Open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. Our seasonal menu showcases a range of great British classics, from an extensive selection of fresh fish to a range of expertly sourced grills and meat dishes, as well as our signature oyster platters. "splendid seafood" Zagat, 2014 We have a hand selected Champagne, wine, beer, cocktail and spirits selection, including 20 wines by the glass. Regulars and one-off diners are met with a smile and attentive, but not rushed, service. The essence of Green's is "low key" and quintessentially British. Deliberate understated and exclusive; elegant and refined. Our private rooms seat 6 to 36 guests or we can host 40 guests for a drinks & canape reception. This year was the third time we'd had a meal at Green's ..... but this was truly the most memorable .... Santos took truly wonderful care of us .... he is a truly wonderful professional ..... so warm and wonderful with none of the off-putting haughtiness that sometimes infuses 'hospitality' here..... When I couldn't decide whether I wanted 6 of the rock or natural oysters.. he suggested I have 3 of each !!!! .... Peter had the most wonderful 'fish and chips' of his life... and I had the truly delicious steak tartare..... we then we shared the decadent 'Eton Mess' marinated strawberries, meringue, and cream.... We had the bonus of sharing the room with a dinner party of owner Simon Parker-Bowles (Camilla's brother).... so the place was filled with English laughter an atmosphere that made us feel that we were truly in London !!!

Business lunch a few days ago in one of the restaurant booths. August is a quiet time and the restaurant was one third full. That said, service was prompt, knowledgeable, correct without being over friendly, touching on a bit reserved. Well it's England and this is a traditional place. Outside was hot and muggy, inside air condition was perfection, chilled like the Pinot Grigio that went also down well. Potted shrimp starter and toast, smoked salmon perfect. We both chose the special of crab / fish cakes with a light hollandaise style sauce and cress. Side salads fizzy water and more wine made it an ideal lunch. Quiet and discrete for our conversations. Clean white linen table clothes and the green leather booths gave this a great mix of traditional British and Mediterranean feel. I hear its moving location - I hope new place continues to uphold these standards.

We had an evening meal at the restaurant as we were staying at the Cavendish Hotel across the road. We arrived latish (8:30pm) and the restaurant was only half full and quite quiet.
We ordered the seafood platter to share at £55 for a whole dressed lobster, crab (both dark and white meat), oysters and something else (sorry I can't remember!). We ordered a salad to go with it as there seemed to be little but fish on the platter.
It arrived well presented and lots of food - more than enough for two of us. The fish was well cooked and tasty - good value for money.
I would happily eat here again.

A quiet dinner for 2 was required and delivered, ok slightly pricey but no complaints on quality or taste. Staff were attentive and a thoroughly good evening was had by both of us.

This was an excellent venue for a Team Dinner.

We arrived at 18.30hrs and the place was heaving with jolly city boys and girls but the dinning area was quiet without being overly. the service was excellent and the menu selection wide 12 sitting all had a wide choice. The food was very good and the waiting staff attentive.

Not a place for a quiet candle light romantic evening but a good place to dine.
