Description: Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

This is my fourth visit and the tapas continues to be consistent and delicious.
As usual I got there before the doors opened to make sure we all got a seat, this is one downside, so if you are coming as more than a two bare it in mind and be there on time!
Sadly my favourite specials such as razor clams were not to be seen on this day.
Unlike my previous visits this time I sat outside this time. I'm not sure if it was due to this or the fact that we pushed two tables together but the waitress was abrupt and a bit off with us. Sat at the bar all the theatre and service happens directly infront of you so maybe being outside puts the service team out of place.
She warmed up an hour down the road and three bottles of wine later however maybe this was the spend!
Croquetas and jambon tortilla are my all time favs (along with the fish specials) and I will continue to drop in for these and occasionally dream about them.
Looking forward to the new site opening and seeing some different dishes on their menu.

Be warned that there are no seat reservations and that you may have to stand in a queue before you can be accommodated and then you will only be offered seats for those present ie you cannot go alone and say that two friends are joining asap. It is a strictly a "bums on seats" policy which is fair enough. However the extremely capable and helpful young staff try to make queuing as pleasant as possible by serving drinks and nibbles (para picar). Sooner than you imagine, you will be seated and then the real enjoyment commences. Our small party of 3 had some really great tapas with the best being morcilla iberica with quail eggs, baby gem salad with anchovies and smoked pancetta, gambas al ajillo, a wonderfully rounded little jamon and spinach tortilla, and these were all priced in the range £4 to £7.50. What racked up our bill was two plates of the wonderfully flavoured jamon senorio de montanera carved off the leg as you watched. At £18.95 per portion this was a pricey item. Likewise 2 bottles of dry but fruity Ribero del Duero (tempranillo) 2006 at £36.00 each soon ensured that we comfortably passed the £200 mark.
Seated on bar stools facing the chefs and waitresses preparing fresh food against our orders soon confirmed the high level of team and individual skills for content/presentation of the dishes. It was such a fun evening with exquisite and authentic tapas. We all want to return and soon.

This place is one of my favourite places to eat, the food is fantastic, but a little expensive. Try the sherry, it's really good. If you're on a budget then just order a few things but it really is worth a visit.

A really pleasant experience. There was queue, many people waiting, but to seat indoors. We got one of the small tables outdoors, and they turned up he heating - it was really pleasant. Great servisse, friendly and helpful. Excellent tapas, really a good variety and all of them delicious. We ordered six diferente dishes, and none of them were dissapointing. Delicious desserts as well. In general a very positive experience!

We have been coming to this great Hart establishment for the last 5 years and it never disappoints. Worth every second of the wait.
