Description: Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

A second visit to this fab tapas bar was even better than the first! We had superb clams, mussels the Spanish way, goats cheese stuffed courgette flower, and monkfish on a bed of spinach with fried potatoes in the most marvellous chorizo flavoured sauce. As the lovely waitress found out it was my birthday, we were presented with a delicious chocolate desert and a chorus of "happy birthday" from all in the bar!
We will return. Oh, we arrived at 5.40 and only waited about 10 mins.

The first time we went there for dinner the line waiting for a stool at the counter was outside the door. It is a very small restaurant with bar stool and four small tables outside. We decided that the wait was simply too long and decided to go back there the next day for lunch instead.

The next day for lunch, we were the the first in line and got two seats. We were not disappointed with the food. We ordered the grilled razorback clams and they were so fresh and cooked perfectly. Drizzled with some olive oil, they were so sweet and good that we ordered another one! The grilled sea bream was also excellent and fresh. The bruchetta was smoldered with ripe tomatoes. We also ordered the Iberico ham, octopus and blood sausages. Barrafina is a MUST visit restaurant while in London.

Inside tip: Lunch time is easier to get a seat and the menu is the same.

Outright one of the best if not THE best tapa restaurant in London. The daily specials are often better than the regular menu so I highly recommend them. No reservations are taken so be there early and limit your waiting time to less than half hour. Show up later than 7:30pm and expect a long wait. Once I was in the queue for 80 minutes but it was all worth it. Try some ham while you are waiting. You would actually pay less for them, in particular the lomo, than you would in Madrid. Some would consider this restaurant pricy but you get what you pay for, and much, much more. Absolutely my favorite, not just Spanish, but of all restaurants in London. They have a sister restaurant called Fina that takes reservation. Don’t bother. It’s not as good. You have to queue for the best.

Couldn't decide to go to this restaurant or The Ivy. We chose Barrafina and boy were we glad we did. It was amazing. The staff were great and the food fabulous. The Spanish omelette was yummy but the lamb was even better. Had prawns, pan con tomato, chorizo, squid and other tasty food. The only disappointing was that they had run out of crema catalana. Most disappointing. However, the young lady behind the bar had a word with someone and the made me one 'specially for me'! Just when you think you will never eat again then they put a crema catalana in front of you. How wrong I was. It was delicious. Service great. Food fab and will definitely be going again and again and again. 10 out of 10

For a tapas restaurant, Barrafine can cause some damage to your wallet but the food is very well prepared and the seafood is always fresh. It always has a long queue. We waited for 45min for 2 seats at the bar. They're so busy but they still ensure every customer is attended to. Overall a good experience.
