Description: Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

“Great after theater snack/dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I went to see the Mousetrap at the nearby theater and wanted to have dinner afterwards, around 10pm. Barrafina is conveniently just a couple of minutes walk from St Martins Theater and they offer dinner until around 11pm. The restaurant was full, but being alone, I got a seat at the bar (that's the only seating option they have) right away, The staff were extremely friendly and it was fun watching the cooks cook away with the lead of the head chef (she's there about three nights a week). The portions came quickly to order and all of them were very tasty. Wine selection is brilliant as well -- make sure to try the sherrys with the food. My favorite dish wash the octopus with capers. They messed up the last orders so that I missed the rump of lamb but they offered free dessert in compensation. In the end, I liked it so much that I got the book to go and I'll try to recreate the dishes at home. The price is not the cheapest but it's certainly worth it.

“Some of the best Tapas ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

Went here on friday past during weekend break in London, went for this place due to reveiws on TA and right enough we waited about 20 minutes for a table at about 1:30pm. was nice wait though over a lovely glass of Rioja watching chefs preparing lovely food.
The food was amazing, lovely lemon sole was special dish, great pork belly, salt fish, prawn tortilla and a few other dishes enjoyed with numerous Riojas and cervezas.
All staff extremely helpful and polite, spent a lovely 90 minutes in there, will definetly return when in london
Easily some of the best Tapas we have ever had in wonderful restaurant,

“Worth The Wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

We arrived at about 5:20, knowing Barrafina opens at 5:00. It was filled, there were people in front of us and we had to wait about 50 minutes to get served. It was well worth the wait.

The food was great. If you love tapas, this is about as good as it gets and most dishes were better than the best of what we have had in Spain. It is loud, and there's only seating at an "L" shaped counter, everything fast paced but you get your dishes fast and they are on top of it. But the food, every dish, was great.

“Best tapas bar in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

Was there with two friends and we had an excellent evening. Arrived at 6pm on a Sat, and had to queue for almost 2 hours. However we were enjoying nice wine and a cold meat platter whilst waiting. Time flew past we hardly felt we are waiting. The service was fantastic, we were greeted by friendly waiters the moment we pushed open the door.
The food was really great, octupus, prawns, fish, etc fresh and so tasty! This restaurant is a gem! I would recommend anyone - but dont go in groups of more than 3, it will be very difficult to get seats.
Check it out!

“Great tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

Barrafina doesn't take reservations but there is an area to drink and wait in so the time flew by. The food was amazing, some of the best tapas I have ever had. I like the way you sit on stools and you can see the chefs at work. The staff were all friendly - I can see why it the reviews are so positive.
