Tried the evening tasting menu. Delicious ideas but execution slightly lacking.
Ceviche of scottish salmon with lime, red chilli, red onion, avocado & sweet potato:- good though ceviche could have marinaded longer and the sweet potato, distracting and unnecessary.
Sautéed foie gras w/ grilled quail, pomegranate & orange salad: Foie gras very lightly (too lightly) sautéed. 30 more secs needed to avoid slimy texture. Quail legs poorly butchered - contained splinters of bone. Flavours delicious.
Seared yellow fin tuna with edamame beans & saffron risotto, pak choi, sautéed squid & wakame soya dressing: too much going on, risotto did not belong on the plate.
Scotch fillet steak with shitake purée unremarkable.
Deserts were underwhelming.
All in all, slightly disappointing; though perhaps my fault for having too high expectations?
Service however was very friendly and attentive, and the wine list very good and reasonably priced.
