“Downgrade”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Our first visit on a Saturday evening. The place was full, and I thought that they had lost the nice relaxed atmosphere we had experienced on our first, weekday, visit.
We were hurried through our meal in just over an hour. Our wine glasses were regularly topped up without our waiter seeking our agreement.
Most of the dishes were good, but two of us paid a £5 supplement for turbot. We got a small piece of overdone, under seasoned fish on a bed of almost raw leeks. We could not cut the leeks! The waiter did not ask if we had enjoyed our meal.
A shame as our earlier visit was really promising. We paid £50 marginally under per head for two courses each and wine.

“Excellent food”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We will definitely return to this restaurant, the food is very reasonably priced for the two or three course set menus. The food is of excellent quality with good choice of dishes. Excellent stock of wine if not too many to choose from. Service was very helpful and attentive.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We had the six course taster menu with the accompanying wine selections. Including aperitifs, coffees and service, the bill came to just over £100 a head.

The food is excellent, service perfect and the restaurant itself is very smart but not pretentious or stuffy.

We had a wonderful meal and I would not hesitate to recommend or return.

“Excellent, always like coming here”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Have eaten here about 3 times now and have always enjoyed the experience.
Excellent food, great wine, and not a stuffy atmosphere. For this type of food, it offers great value for money, especially at lunch time.

“relaxed but excellent”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

3 months until our wedding and we wanted to celebrate! We had the tasting menu and had an extra starter. all the food was excellent, tasted amazing! Dont be put off by the first 2 courses being small, once you finish up you will be full.

For £50, it is well worth it. The place is relaxed, welcoming and the staff are not in your face but always there when you need them, no need to call them.

will try and add photos another time.
