Description: Critically acclaimed Spanish tapas restaurant El Pirata opened its doors in 1994. Tucked away in the corner of Mayfair next to Hyde Park, El Pirata has become a firm favourite for those wanting an authentic Spanish experience. Relax at the superb mirrored bar with a drink or two whilst enjoying the atmosphere of the Spanish influenced decor. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you can enjoy the Tapas menu where each dish is individually priced, or if you’re not too familiar with Tapas, choose from our two fantastic set menus. At lunchtimes enjoy our special lunch menu which offers great value; two tapas dishes, a bread roll and alioli plus a soft drink or a glass of wine for just £10.25 – great value! Downstairs is ideal for parties and gatherings of up to 60 people. If you prefer a private area for either that important business dinner or a more romantic setting for that more intimate meal, you will find our two private alcoves perfect. When the weather’s at its best, our four outside tables are an instant hit, but you’ll have to be early because they are snapped up fast!

“Great Tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

On a recent work trip to London my colleague and I ate here twice it was so good. The first night we were jet lagged from arriving that morning so went with a set menu which was a good choice. The service was great and very obliging when we asked if we could eat quickly. On our return we selected a variety of dishes which were all excellent and so too the wine. This was definitely the best place we ate during the trip, a great find!

“The pirates of tapas in London!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Wonderful electric atmosphere, warm with lots of calm chatter among tables. Food was truly delicious, marinated olives...light with a hint of lemon and thyme, sausage in red wine was mouth watering, the cheese selection with quince was divine, the only thing I would say....negative....is that I have had better tortilla, frith street london for one, but still pleasant....the comfort and ease of this place makes up for this though, loved it!!! will definitely return and most likely bring friends!
The best comparison I have found so far, to the amazing food I have eaten in spain.

“Quality food served in a friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Even though based in posh Mayfair, El Pirata offers great food to budget prices.
Genuine decor and a lively atmosphere an excellent tapas.
We had the tapas set menur, which included different types of seafood and meat.
The dishes were served continously. Our waiters provided excellent service.
Will definitely go back to this hidden gem. Great place to dine.

“Lively Tapas Restaurant”

Charming setting (we were a party of five seated in a stone alcove) with excellent food and service. The server was very helpful in recommending Spanish wines that were unfamiliar to us.

“Couldn't ask for much more!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013 via mobile

Really enjoyed every aspect of El Pirata, fantastic atmosphere, especially downstairs where it is dark and intimate. Great service, wonderful food (at reasonable prices) and also a fantastic array of wines to choose from.

One of the best Tapas places in London I don't doubt.
