This place was recommended by a British-Italian chap and we had great expectations. He billed it as the 'best Italian restaurant in the Hampstead area'.
I've been to this restaurant with two sets of people, and on both occasions the food was average. On the second occasion we turned up 15 minutes early and were 'greeted' by a rather rude waitress (no, we couldn't possibly order now and then return in 15 minutes). The pizza is passable but one gets the feeling that the team aren't trying too hard. My friend's pasta dish was also so-so.
La Smorfia in West Hampstead is much better: friendly, consistent and delicious. We won't come back to Sarracino, despite it being on our doorstep.
