“Reasonable, but not great”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

This place was recommended by a British-Italian chap and we had great expectations. He billed it as the 'best Italian restaurant in the Hampstead area'.

I've been to this restaurant with two sets of people, and on both occasions the food was average. On the second occasion we turned up 15 minutes early and were 'greeted' by a rather rude waitress (no, we couldn't possibly order now and then return in 15 minutes). The pizza is passable but one gets the feeling that the team aren't trying too hard. My friend's pasta dish was also so-so.

La Smorfia in West Hampstead is much better: friendly, consistent and delicious. We won't come back to Sarracino, despite it being on our doorstep.

“Real Italian food ( and real wood fire oven pizza) in a genuine Italian atmosphere !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

We have been living in the UK for 6 months and were dying to eat real Italian pizza. Sarracino met all our expectations! Had a very good wood fire oven - cooked pizza an excellent bottle of white wine . The menu, although we didn't try any other dish reflect the genuine recepies you find in Italy.
Also the waitress and the Manager were also very polite and professional.
Will be back again to taste everythIng else :)

“Disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

We read the reviews and decided to try this place to get pizza delivered. They arrived quickly but when we opened the boxes we were sad to see the poor quality of the toppings, including canned mushrooms, very poor quality ham and one very dry leaf of basil ( when the menu says the pizza has basil on it I expect a bit more, one leaf doesn't count as a topping, that's decoration!) For pizzas costing nearly 9 quid, the least I would expect is for the ingredients to be fresh. Needless to say we will not go back.

“Great pizza. Pasta could be better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Best pizza in NW London. The rest of the menu could be improved a bit, but if you go there for pizza you are in the right place!
Very quick delivery service

“good food .. but good food is not enough !!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

the only good thing about Sarracino is the food, nothing else.

1/ the starters are expensive and miserable (a calamari starter has got literally 5 calamari)

2/ menu is misleading: you will find the starter section, pasta section, pizza section and secondi section. The price you see for pasta is actually meant as a starter , if you want it as a main there is 2£ extra (little * in the bottom). I mean , if there is a starter section, the price for pasta should be really as main, not as starter again.... !

3/ staff is arrogant and rude

4/ overall it is overpriced
