“Ab Fab”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Went here on a Tuesday night.... Not very busy but most tables had a decent turnover. This American diner has really cool decor and the ambience is amazing. Food is well priced and tasty and the cocktails are lovely and potent! With happy hour until 7.30pm u can afford to have a cocktail or 2 and not break the bank.

Overall it was a great experience...I will be going back and taking my friends with me!

“Nothing special - but not bad!”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

A good ambiance club, with really mixed people! Entrance fee is a bit pricey on Saturday, but hey, it's the norm in London.
Drinks are priced average, 7 pounds a cocktail, there is a cheap option, bottle of wine for 10.
Music is cool!
Bad sides? too many stairs within, and if you stand on them, Security is asking you to move. Annoying. Really.

Hi Svetlana! Thank you for your review. I was sorry to read that the layout did not satisfy you fully. Roadhouse lives in a historical listed building The Jubilee Market Hall and as such the architecture cannot be altered. We made advantage of the layered design, the bar areas and the dance floor are separated via a platform system and yes, stairs have to link them together. as these stairs are considered walkways and a part of the fire route, for comfort and safety security staff is employed to keep them clear at all times. These men are not around to annoy anyone, rather to make sure that any point of the venue is accessible to anyone at any time.

Hopefully this minor inconvenience did not discourage you from visiting us another time.

“Brilliant live band”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Was in London for the weekend visiting my friend and we went here on Saturday night. It's a great bar & there was a live band playing and they were just brilliant (can't remember the name), DJ was also very good. Cocktails were fab and the barman knew our round after just ordering once & I wasn't getting one from the menu so I was very impressed. Would definitely go again when I visit.

“Bouncers....ego/power trip”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

I have never personally had an issue with the bouncers at Roadhouse but have witnessed them on their little power trip every time I have been (not too many times I hasten to add). My favourite? This past Saturday night making a fella wait 10 minutes before bing allowed to go in. No one else waiting, no one came out, and yet the bouncer still insisted on it. Quite simply a bouncer trying to enhance his sense of self importance. You get that sometimes, typically at clubs which are a bit more down market. Roadhouse is ok for a dance, a laugh and a few drinks (usually a last resort and they open late). Not sure why you'd eat here when great food exists everywhere in central London.

Dear PuttersLondon, thank you for your review. I was glad to read that you had been to Roadhouse on a few occasions.

About the subject of your review, I'd like to assure you that the doormen were not acting on a selfish motive. There can be three reasons why someone is delayed entry. First and most likely on a weekend night is that the venue is full. We keep track of the guests inside and once we reach the limit defined by the licensing authorities admission swithces into a one in one out system. The second possibility that when the gentleman approached the door the manager on duty had noticed mild signs of intoxication and decided to ask the newcomer to freshen up before he enters the venue and carries on imbibing. This is also a procedure Roadhouse employes on request of the council regulating our license. The third possibility that the gentleman was asked to step outside after either showing signs of intoxication or acting in a manner that annoyed guests around him, to get some air, setttle down a bit and get back in a state of mind where he would no longer be a nuiscance to the punters around him.

It is somewhat a shame that we live in an age where hospitality and security has to go hand in hand. I hope I had managed to shed some light on things here. Hope to see you down in Roadhouse at least one more time!
