Konnigans, like it's sister restaurant Hudson's, could never be described as "haute cuisine". However, it is the kind of restaurant that does well during times of austerity; rather like Pizza Express does. The staff are lovely, the food is tasty, the ambience is friendly and the price is right! I just had lunch for £7.50 which included a glass of wine. What more could you ask for in these dire times. Maybe not good enough for the posh boys, but who wants them as fellow customers. Konnigans caters to the locals in the Tonsleys and is unpretentious and down to earth. Worth a visit.

If you happen to be in Wandsworth your choice is limited but this little bistro/restaurant is charming. Rustic interior, Mediterranean menu, reasonable wine list and great service. Well worth dropping in and avoiding a trip further afield.

The. Best. Eggs. Benedict. EVER.

Mmmmmmm so good, the eggs benedict with the salmon on the muffin bread is so tasty, I have dreams about this. I live just up the road from this place, and it always looks so jolly and cosy, and in the summer the tables of al fresco diners looks so inviting. My boyfriend ordered the Coq au Vin, and said it was delicious ( he is french so this can be deemed as true and accurate). I thought to stay safe with their breakfasts and was dubious about the fact that they offered things such as coq au vin, but I stand corrected. Have only ever had lunch/ brunch here, but I will definatley return for an evening meal- the lure of tasty and reasonably priced food in a cosy candle and cusion filled interior is calling!
