Description: Situated in London's Westbourne Park, just a five minute meander from the local tube stop, Mosob offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the flavours and atmosphere of Eritrea. Family run, Mosob is warm and welcoming, with charming service really embracing the family-centric traditions of Eritrea and inviting guests to relax and unwind while being treated to the kitchen's vibrant cuisine. Influenced by geographic and historic links to Arabia, Ethiopia, the Sudan and Italy, Eritrean cuisine is uniquely distinctive with a strong variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, individual spice blends and specialty injera bread used throughout, providing guests with flavours and eating styles they're unlikely to have come across before. Equally focused on tradition and history is Mosob's interior, carefully put together with colourful textiles, rough wood paneling and organic forms alongside contemporary lighting and furniture for comfort and style. Whether an intimate romantic meal, business lunch or dinner and drinks with friends, Mosob offers the food, atmosphere and service to ensure a night to remember.

Nothing fancy, just really good food and extra-special service. All very delicious and staff that actually seem to care. I would recommend this restaurant most heartily.

“Delicious food and the loveliest owner/staff around”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

I've gone by this place so many times and finally made it in for dinner last night. It looks very unassuming from the outside, but what a delightful surprise inside!

My husband and I had one of the vegetarian sharing menus which was an enormous amount the most lovely food. Green lentils, stewed okra, spinach with ricotta and more. You eat everything with a pancake type bread which soaks up the flavours beautifully. It's great value for money and you also get either delicious cardamon or mint tea to finish your meal.

And the service was absolutely amazing - friendly, informational (about Eritrea and the food) and just all around perfect. We just live down the road so will definitely be back!

“Actually 4.5 stars out of 5”
Reviewed January 24, 2014 via mobile

We stumbled over this restaurant online while searching for smth new and rather exotic than the standard Italian, Chinese etc sort of cuisines. We were quite intrigued by all the great reviewes and decided to give it a try. And we are really glad we did! This is a very cosy family run restaurant, especially the room at the back with the traditional decor and low tables. Since it was out first time trying Eritrean/Ethiopian cuisine we were explained the menu and how the dishes are served and supposed to be eaten. We went for one of the set menus and enjoyed every part of the meal. The dishes are served on a big tray/plate with the traditional sourdough bread/pancakes on the side. Basically you are eating with your hands using pieces of the bread as cutlery. It was an exiting experience and we very much enjoyed our dinner. The only thing which wasn't 100% to our taste was the bread (Injera) as it traditionally has a specific sour taste. But this is purely a preference factor and in no way an indication of quality. Next time I visit I will simply have my meal with either rice or pita bread instead. The service is awesome, we got a free history/culture lesson in addition to our meal. Very good value for money as well. Definitely worth a visit!

“Hands on”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

If you are up for a great experience, want to taste lovely food and learn about a different culture, try Mosob. We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant. We were explained the menu and ways of eating, no knife and forks here.
As this was the first attempt of Eritrean food, we were recommended one of the set menus. All the food we had, was lovely and full of flavour. Spicy, but not too hot. For dessert we had tea and cakes. A perfect ending to a lovely meal.
The owner was very villing to share information about Eritrea, which is a country we were not very familiar with.
We had a great evening in Mosob and it is a restaurant we would like to return to. Great value for money.
A bit away from the usual tourist areas, well worth looking for.
