“Good food, terrible service”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Visited for lunch as a group of eight women. The set menu was good value with four choices for each course and flexibility for those with dietary requirements. The food was all perfectly cooked and very tasty; recommended are the smoked duck starter and the hake and beef mains.

The restaurant was very quiet at first and lacked atmosphere, then at around half 2 it filled with afternoon tea guests and became very busy. It was at that point that our table got completely ignored. We had to refill our own wine and go after our waitress to get the bill and pay. When it came to paying there was no portable chip and pin so we all had to queue up at the entrance to pay. We mentioned the poor service to three separate members of staff and none of them could have cared less, they simply ignored us. We all expected better from that class of hotel/ restaurant.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

Came here on the Living Social Deal. The service was very good and Abdul our waiter was excellent. The setting is beautiful, however the food from the set menu doesn't match the setting/service. The duck starter was well cooked, however both the starter and main were totally tasteless, and the veg in the main were overcooked floating in a bland broth. Disappointing and an over priced deal.

“Reliable excellence”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Have visited 3 or 4 times over the past year or so, always on a 3 course set menu, and I've always been glad I went.

The service is top-class, the setting exquisite, the food excellent and the value with the meal deal makes the whole experience a joy. Wholeheartedly recommend for couples, families (without young kids) and groups of friends.

“Pleasant evening meal”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

After visiting London for a theatre trip decided to treat ourselves to a visit to The Waldorf. Booked for the set menu for £25, with extra for side dishes. No complaints about the food, nicely presented and plentiful.
Slightly disappointed with the hotel - hasn't got the 'wow' factor that I was expecting from such an iconic hotel. Staff friendly but expected the waiter/waitresses to be more professional in the delivery/service.
Overall, a pleasant evening in nice surroundings with good food.

“Another Fabulous Evening”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

My friend and I made a return visit to the Homage Grand Salon last Monday evening and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed an excellent meal accompanied by a Champagne Cocktail . The food was wonderful and the service was absolutely spot on with just the right time between courses. Our special thanks to Elise and Ruta who served us and made our evening so special. We shall definitely return to enjoy this delightful experience again. Thank you Wendy and Christine
