Description: Drawing on Joel Robuchon's internationally renowned culinary expertise, already accredited with several Michelin Stars at restaurants throughout the world, L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon's philosophy is based on serving simple cuisine of the most exceptional quality. This London restaurant has been awarded Michelin Star, as well as 3 AA Rosettes, establishing it as one of the most exceptional places to dine in London. Robuchon's menu delights the palate with clean insightful flavours and refreshingly understated presentation. The dishes are predominantly French with Italian and Spanish influences. The dining experience at L'Atelier is an interactive one. On the ground floor, the eating counter surrounds the entire kitchen where the food is prepared. Robuchon sees the immediate benefit of this Japanese-inspired layout to chefs, as one can gauge the reaction of clients, and even converse with them whilst they watch their food being prepared. Unlike the sister restaurants in Paris and Tokyo, the London restaurant also has another 20 seats where diners can sit opposite each other. Meanwhile, La Cuisine on the first floor offers more traditional restaurant seating in a setting that could be likened to dining in the kitchen itself. Wherever you are seated you will enjoy the highest quality food in an informal, convivial environment. Valet parking is also available. Please note, last reservations are taken half an hour prior to closing time. Dress code: Smart Casual, shorts are not permitted.

What a great lunch treat for my 60th birthday. This restaurant is wonderful, very unassuming on the outside but inside is a different story, very smart but not pretentious. We joined our fellow diners in the bar which has a wonderful selection of cocktails and other drinks. We all chose the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairings and everything was pronounced fabulous. It was a real treat to drink such wonderful wines without having to compromise on a single choice or two. As far as value goes, this is excellent for food of such quality and imagination. Lunch is an affordable option for a special treat and one I'll never forget.

I had the pleasure of experiencing of one London's FINEST restaurants L'Atelier in the West End! Seven of us decided that it was time for Robuchons' London eatery so we arrived to be greeted by the wonderful surroundings of RED and BLACK (with a few vines / leaves / greenery on the walls!) We sat at the bar facing the head chef and all the wonderful masters of food art! At first it was slightly 'cramped' (sitting at the bar on bar stools) but once my neighbors moved - then there was space to enjoy the food and the surroundings. The service was instant and impeccable. The servers had their jobs 'down pat', with almost 'military-like' precision. Pricey - YES! But, was it worth it? - YES! Joël Robuchon's saying for the day: "For me, London is the gastronomic capital of Europe. It's the most modern, most innovative, city where new things are happening..." Agreed...and his restaurant is its testimonial. The appetizers (or 'starters') are amazing - CAVIAR served three different ways (I had the caviar over crab) then how about the TRUFFE BLANCHE? Excellent. I had the Sea Bass as a main course (which was somewhat disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber), but the desserts made up for it, especially the CHOCOLAT TENDANCE. The service is at your pace....should you want to eat and run, make the theatre or just relax and savor the delights of the chef - its all up to you. Its LONDON and PARIS all rolled up into one delightful package. If you have two credit cards to spare (once the bill arrives) then L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon is a must. I will most definitely return (...and probably skip the Sea Bass.)

Just ate here last weekend. Opted for the tasting menu for two with matching sommelier-recommended wines. Dinner was a bit of a disappointment. Out of the eight dishes, just 3-4 were very good, the rest were nice but nothing special, with one or two even being a little odd, with an overly heavy emphasis on fois gras. Having tried many other Michelin starred restaurants around London and the UK, this one did not feel up to standard.

We were also surprised to find a toddler at dinner with a group on the next table. She was "vocal" and kept on gesturing our way. Initially this was cute, but eventually we wished things would return to the era when bringing a baby to a Michelin starred restaurant (or indeed any good restaurant) late on a Friday night, would not be considered either appropriate or acceptable.

We asked that a certain meat be omitted from one particular dish which was duly noted, however when it arrived, after taking a mouthful, we detected the said meat. We found this to be a pretty poor show. What if we had had serious allergies???!!! The restaurant did make a small deduction from the bill to reflect this, but we felt let down and this cast a big shadow over the rest of the meal (this happened on course 3/4 out of 8 so it happened early on).

Aside from this one serious incident, the service was generally good.

Cocktails and matching wines were wonderful. Atmosphere was great, but when we went up to the bar at 1am, it was dead, despite being advised by the restaurant staff to take drinks up there and soak up the (non-existent) scene!

I'm not sure I would recommend this as other restaurants with far more delicious food are in abundance in London - Michelin stars or otherwise. We did have a pleasant evening, but it was punctuated with issues (annoying child and cock-up with the meat dish). Overall we had a pleasant evening but felt rather under-whelmed as we left.

This is the third time both myself and my wife have visited Joel Robuchon L'Atelier for a pre theatre meal...in summary.....excellent service and the food was the "dogs cock".....

I have to say watching the chef's in the kitchen is amazing. Everything runs like clock work, and there is total silence, which is good to watch. The only thing you hear is Oliver shouting "SERVICE" in his London / French accent.

Definitely recommend the overall experience, but not sure about choices of wine with the meals......You hardly got a splash in some glasses.

Merry Xmas to everyone at L'Atelier, keep up the good work...
