Description: An eccentric Italian restaurant in the heart of Londons upmarket Kensington, Arcadia is a welcome change from the hushed atmosphere and all-white dcor of the areas usual dining offerings. Bright and outlandish, the surroundings here at Arcadia are anything but neutral, with murals on the walls, quirky colour schemes and character aplenty. Likewise, the service is friendly and cheerful, the staff laughing along with guests as they dart from table to table, serving food and topping up wine glasses. Arcadias bustling kitchen is the origin of an all Italian menu of authentic classic dishes, all with a homemade, traditional flavour with most items made in house, including the fabulous hand-prepared pasta featured in a wide array of the dishes. A bit of a hidden gem amongst the many typically Kensington-friendly restaurants, the Arcadia is packed with personality and authenticity, providing its guests with an always memorable fun and colourful dining experience including high quality food, a good selection of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere.

“A great find in Kensington High Street”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

I had previously visited on business, and had the chance over the holidays to introduce my husband to this great little restaurant. He liked it so much, we came back once! We were welcomed by charming young men, and settled into nice two-top tables both times. The ambiance is fun--hand-painted murals on the walls. We both ordered pasta and it did not disappoint, nor did the caprese salad. The wine list is robust, and if there is one thing not 'perfect', I'd say the gelato is not up to par. But on the whole, a great little place!

“A New Year's Eve Surprise”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

It was New Year's Eve, already 10:30 at night, and we'd just arrived in Kensington from Heathrow. All of the pubs had stopped serving and all of the nicer restaurants were filled with well-dressed revelers. Fast food seemed like the last choice - but then, we found the Arcadia Restaurant on High Street. The maitre d' hesitated to seat us, and turned to the owner who was with a party of friends celebrating the New Year. The owner gave a barely perceptible nod, and we were seated, along with a request to order quickly, the kitchen was closing. We all ordered pasta, which was fresh, house-made and delicious. The servers were all in a good mood and, as the clock neared midnight, glasses of cava were filled, and the waitstaff gathered to count down the new year and join hands with customers to sing Auld Lang Syne. The owner was charming, his guests were very convivial and the atmosphere was intimate and welcoming. We appreciated the hospitality and the excellent food and service. It made the new year away from home, very memorable and nice.

Lucky to get a table for two on a Saturday night as we hadn't booked. Authentic traditional Italian with romantic style. Good service, though would have been nice to have been told about the specials when given the menu rather than once we had chosen. Tasty mushroom bruschetta starter and the spaghetti with fresh lobster was one of the best I'd tasted. Salmon was good. Ice-cream was OK, nothing special. Found this quite pricey, 3 drinks each + bread basket and bill came to £134. Memorable though and would return for a special occasion.

“Cozy Italian restaurant in Kensington”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

We went to this restaurant on Sunday evening without any prior knowledge.
I liked the ambience of this restaurant, it's simply cozy and relaxing.
Talking of food, it's not bad, antipasto (Italian ham, salami e.t.c.) was generous and filling, linguine with seafood in an aluminium foil was cooked properly "al dente", which is important to me. A large glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, £9, had a good aroma & body compared with cheap ranges of this wine, so fair to me.
Pricewise, it's not very cheap but remember you are in Kensington, and considering it it's not a rip-off either in my view.
Services were O.K. all in all and we left this restaurant with no negative impression.
