Description: An eccentric Italian restaurant in the heart of Londons upmarket Kensington, Arcadia is a welcome change from the hushed atmosphere and all-white dcor of the areas usual dining offerings. Bright and outlandish, the surroundings here at Arcadia are anything but neutral, with murals on the walls, quirky colour schemes and character aplenty. Likewise, the service is friendly and cheerful, the staff laughing along with guests as they dart from table to table, serving food and topping up wine glasses. Arcadias bustling kitchen is the origin of an all Italian menu of authentic classic dishes, all with a homemade, traditional flavour with most items made in house, including the fabulous hand-prepared pasta featured in a wide array of the dishes. A bit of a hidden gem amongst the many typically Kensington-friendly restaurants, the Arcadia is packed with personality and authenticity, providing its guests with an always memorable fun and colourful dining experience including high quality food, a good selection of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere.

“Traditional Italian”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

A real find in the heart of Kensington, tucked away just off the High Street, traditional Italian food and service at its best. Friendly waiters, extensive menu, great food, my lamb steak was a bit underdone, replaced immediately - superb.
Well worth a visit.

“Very good food but poor customer service”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I stumbled upon this restaurant during my weekend away with my sister. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxed, food was really good, but the only negative thing was the service. The waiters were kind of rude, cold, and not paying attention to the customer needs.

“You have to love the murals!”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We 've eaten here several times over the last few years and truly enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. The portions are surprisingly large and the wine selection is commendable. This is a very cozy place and it can be tight to move about when it is full. Otherwise, a lovely and potentially romantic choice!

“A Taste of Italy in London”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, exhausted after touring London on a very warm sunny day. We arrived early evening and found ourselves transported to Italy! Intrigued by the courtyard seating and nightly special, we were greeted by a very attentive staff, most of whom were from Naples and Rome, and after settling in, we were brought the most heavenly small bowl of green olives, freshly baked bread with olive oil and a glass of Presecco. Next came a delicious Antipasta, with irresistible Italian cheeses and meats, enough for 2 to share and glasses of house Italian red wine. Dinner was an incredible seafood pasta and fall off the bone Osso Bucco. Delicious! We love it so much that we came back and ate there a second night! Loved the attentive staff and all their recommendations! Would love to have this Italian restaurant in my home town! Just like being back in Tuscany!

We loved it so much we came back later in the week and ate there a second night!

“Five years later and still as good”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Five years ago we stumbled on this more Italian than Italian Restaurant in London.
We had a real insight into Italian emotion, its very family oriented there which is passed on to the food,There was a discrete TV there and of all things the Italian football team was featured, (loosing) even with the staff including the chefs hopping in and out to watch the play and urging them on.
We enjoyed this impromptu entertainment which did not slow the excellent service, even when a couple from the kitchen cried on each others shoulders it did not get into the excellent Halibut.

Back home in NZ we often recalled our ITI restaurant with the best fish ever in a restaurant and
looked forward to another visit when next in London.
This occurred this June and we organized to make a visit at the same time praying that their standard would still meet our expectations.
It was still exactly the same, we were met on the pavement with a very smart waitor who gave us a choice of table, we had a meal that was as good as the one five years ago.
It is an old building but its like the restaurants in Sorrento or Rome very authentic.
Pity its twelve thousand miles away.
