A friend and I were in Kensington & Chelsea for a day's painting and found The Metropolitan by chance but ideally placed for a lunch stop on our tour. Taken a bit as 'pot luck' but found to be so good that it warrants a review as more readers should enjoy its benefits.
First off on asking about the beers on tap we were offered a taste of each. We wanted to eat, relax for an hour or so on a very hot and busy day - no problem. In fact while my colleague went off after lunch to paint by the Grand Union Canal just round the corner they were very happy for me to occupy a picnic table for another hour or so to work on my paintings. Now that's being accommodating!
The beer was good and the bar meals large, well presented and very tasty. Despite being a busy Saturday the staff were polite, friendly and efficient - service time wholly acceptable.
It is virtually on top of Westbourne Park Underground Station; Portobello Road Market is near but as I say the canal nearer and a delight.
Do go you'll enjoy it and the locals who were welcoming too.
