We had a very late lunch on a Friday and no problem getting a table. Two of the three of us had brilliant meals, the other was really good - so can't complain!
The salmon was really delicious, the beef was as well (but not enough for our son), although the vegetarian option (sort of falafels) were tasty but a bit dry. Of the 5 or 6 salads between us, the cauliflower was a bit too crunchy for our taste, but probably fine for most. The rest were great.
The highlight was the cakes, they all looked great, the window display looked delicious and the two we ate were fabulous. As we were eating the salads we wondered why so many were just having cakes - we soon found out why!
Those one or two things aside, it was great.

I had to have a take out as the queues for seating were out the door! The salads all looked lovely and creative, the food was on display and looked like a piece of art work! the sweets were hard to choose from. I ended up with a marscapone lemon tart. Nice but could have had more of the marscapone for balance. Staff were friendly but rushed off there feet and if felt like the customers were in the way! So certainly not a relaxed experience - but to be expected from a popular and fashionable place. I do recommend you give it a go!

I have all three Ottolenghi Cookbooks so it was a lot of fun coming to the restaurant to see how similar the food at the restaurant is compared to what I prepare at home. The waiter did a good job suggesting a good mix of plates from the counter and plates from the kitchen. We got 3 of each and, while we didn't have room for dessert, we did manage to finish everything. I am very inspired after our meal to dig back into the cookbooks and try some new recipes once fresh produce starts coming from our local farmers. HOW TO GET THERE TIP: We took the tube to the Angel station and walked north on upper street. The addresses on the buildings made no sense and we were getting a little panicked that we would be late for our reservation. If you use the Angel station, stay on the east side of Upper Street and walk about 6 to 8 blocks. Ottolenghi is on the right hand side of the street.

Came here with a work colleague and had a nice meal. Portion sizes are small for the price but you get what you pay for as the quality was good. For two people, with a glass of wine each the bill came to about £90. Service was not as good as my first visit but I will definitely go back again

Went for lunch with a friend, was seated almost immediately at the communal table. Had a main with two salads each and it was so hard to choose. Everything looked so tempting on the counter but the roasted aubergine salad was stand-out. All the puddings look fab too, had rhubarb and ginger cheesecake which was fabulous, and even had to take away some puddings for later!
All in all an excellent experience!
