“Big, loud and busy”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Its a big, loud and busy pub between the Strand and Covent Garden... Nothing else to add. Only ever had drinks here. Not a favourite watering hole in London. Young crowd.

“Great pub, beer and service”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

Early Saturday evening and it was getting busy. The staff coped really well and service was pretty quick and very friendly and polite. Beer choice is fantastic, we had a few pints of their plain and oyster porters which were spot on.
The pub is a plumber's heaven (or hell?) as it's full of copper pipe work which looks great.
Didn't eat this time but the food we saw looked pretty decent.

“Disappointing food”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Which is a shame, as I love it as a pub. There's a wider range of drinks than usual to choose from, and I love the ramshackle nature of it with seating scattered over various levels. The food wasn't really up to standard though. The bruschetta was far too busy and overloaded, whilst the beef and ale pie had too little of either, and the pastry had to be fairly chiseled off the side of the dish.

“Nice place, nice staff, nice beer, nice atmosphere”
Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

Went for a mates birthday, had a really good night, live band playing were very good, beer was good.
Lots of nice people in, no dodgy looking people, which you can get in London bars, but overall experience was enjoyable and comfortable. Didn't eat but saw food being eaten, looked ok!

“Great Beer/Ale/etc Pub”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

This is a favorite pub of mine in London for relaxing with a quiet drink during the day, possibly with some food, that gets a bit livelier in the evening. The food is very decent for pub food and great for a light meal or snack.
I'd recommend the tasting trays of ale if you're not sure what to go for.
