Very dated in all aspects - a bit of a throw back to the 70/80s and definitely trading on its 'old' reputation.

The menu is large and varied but sadly the wine list isn't

To be fair the food is ok but exorbitantly priced.

All staters are about £15 and soups about £10 each.

Mains vary from £15 for a plate of pasta to £40 - yes £40 - for a Dover sole.

House wine is £21 a bottle with an average Pinot priced at £35. The same bottle by the way can be bought at tesco for £6.99

Service was ok but not very personal as we had 4/5 different waiters during the course of our meal.

The deserts were a traditional Italian variety and rather bland.

Overall at £90 a head I think there are better places to spend your money at.

Crowded and a little noisy. The food was excellent, but nothing particularly original. One of the better traditional London Italian restaurants. A bit on the pricey side.

This is a very old school Italian restaurant, circa 1970's with prices in what appears to be Lira. It's quite a hoot with the ridiculous pepper mill and the sweet trolley. If you yearn for this sort of thing knock yourself out and book it immediately but hopefully you've just won the lottery. It is certainly very popular with the Euro Trash of London and it's great for people watching but if you want good Italian food forget it.

I have been here several times and always enjoy the straight forward and classic menu, food has always been delivered to a consistently solid standard and the atmosphere is very Chelsea. A place to people watch and possibly spot one or two 'names'. Mostly though I enjoy simple classic Italian dishes and this place delivers.

Before going the reviews said it was loved by its supporters and considered by the critics as priced and pretentious. Unfortunately tend to agree with the latter. The make your own bruschetta was lovely as was the accompanying cheese and olives. My host - I was invited on business- had chosen an expensive Amarone which was indeed good. Somehow at a cost of £20 I wanted my beautifully presented Parma ham and melon to make me cry with joy but it didn't really. Very good no doubt but I kept thinking of the price. Likewise the £30 escalope of veal. Good certainly and the accompanying home made pasta side was excellent. Dessert was superb it has to be said. Perhaps I am not refined enough to eat in South Ken these days but an eye watering £600 plus bill for 3 -the first draft including a rogue bottle we never had- did make me kind of glad that there is so much choice in London.
