For many years this has been my favourite restaurant and my recent visit only confirmed my opinion. It is very old school but if you enjoy quality ingredients cooked simply and not messed about with this is the place to go. A mixed grill accompanied by a bottle of St Estephe and then apple crumble and custard was just what was needed for a pre-Derby day dinner. Not a bit of chilli or garlic in sight - Deo Gratias!
The service is excellent, the dining room is elegant, decorated with lots of oil paintings and prints and the atmosphere just right - no nouveau chavs creating there ghastly din in here.
I really cannot recommend Wiltons highly enough.

We were taken to Wiltons for a 'business dinner'.
It is very old fashioned, and really rather quaint. The service is good, however the Head Waiter (who had been on the 'upselling' course) was rather pushy - I think I will decide if something is excellent.
The table we were on was rather cramped, however our host (a regular diner) assured us that we were on the table reserved for the PM and evidently Mrs Thatcher's favourite.
The food was good, the dressed crab divine, and the lobster excellent.
Quite what it all cost I shudder to think......!

The ultimate restaurant in London for fine dining & impeccable service. You might even spot the other member of parliament or some old aristocracy. Oysters, fish and game are a must. Place & sole highly recommendable. I am going there whenever I am in London as otherwise I have missed something important! However on the pricier side.
They even lately promote their home delivery and picnic hampers. Recular e-mail infos once you have registred on their web-site.

Quintesentially english, albeit with afew foreign staff, but the backbone, english, a world class, supper, had with my friends, a little old fashioned, but isn't taht the beauty of the spot, 1742 founded, surely thats before america..even,

Lovely ambience friday night, filled to the brim, foie gras for satrter, and lobster for main, to die for, yes i can see the fashionistas complaining in earlier reviews, but this is england,Andrew Turner top drawer chef, a credit, yes old school, but hey thats the beauty of the place...
