Description: Quo Vadis is one of London’s most iconic restaurants, with its instantly recognisable facade and fascinating heritage. The “Grande Dame of Dean Street” has been around since 1926 and continues to be a Soho institution, beloved by local residents, foodies, regulars and tourists alike. Restaurateur and food connoisseur brothers Sam & Eddie Hart took on the restaurant in 2008, and in 2012 the inimitable Jeremy Lee came on board as Chef Patron. Jeremy along with General Manager Andy Smyth, runs the building with charisma and charm. The menu at Quo Vadis changes change daily according to the produce offered to Jeremy by his enviable list of suppliers, many of whom Jeremy has built up very close relationships with over the years. Seasonality and sourcing is of paramount importance to Jeremy and his kitchen. Diners come to Quo Vadis to enjoy an eclectic array of dishes from the a la carte menu, which also features a popular Theatre Set menu that is available all day. The succinct and reasonably priced wine list has been put together by Sam Hart and wonderfully compliments all aspects of the menu. Sam does not rely on names or reputations but chooses wines on whether he thinks the customers will enjoy drinking them. He likes to blind taste and tries to select wines that have a real sense of terroir and place and from those, where possible, he picks organic and biodynamic wines.

“Quo Vadis means 'Where are you going?'”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

The answer to the question?
Here!
And as often as possible.
A small menu derived from its wine bar 'snackette' days, means a happy marriage of delectable bites, voluptuous veggies and the noble daily braise. It changes often, so it means you will never tire of what's on offer - and when accompanied by a glass of something from the quirky, eclectic yet intelligent wine list - you have found special.
Where are you going?
Quo vadis!

“Good but not amazing”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Whilst the food, service and decor were generally of a high standard on my recent visit to Quo Vadis, I did not leave feeling particularly inspired by the cooking.
On reflection, this may have been down to my choice of food, of which I had crab&mayonaise for starter and then shoulder of lamb. The lamb seemed particularly fatty and was not served with a sauce so was a bit on the dry side.
Overall, a great meal but not mindblowing like I was expecting.

“Good option when in Soho”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Jeremy Lee (Head chef and formerly from Blueprint Cafe) has garnered a lot of praise since taking over the reigns in the kitchen at Quo Vadis earlier in the year. We've been meaning to pay Quo Vadis a visit and recently we had the opportunity try it out.

Quo Vadis is one of the eating establishments owned by Sam and Eddie Hart, who also own Barrafina and Fino. They clearly have and eye for good chefs and know how to run a restaurant. Quo Vadis is no exception in that sense. The service is exemplary, the decoration nice and the food of high standard. The cuisine at Quo Vadis is however different from Fino and Barrafina in that the latter two restaurants focus on Spanish cuisine whereas Quo Vadis is centred around modern British cuisine.

When we visited Quo Vadis we tried the following dishes:
-Grilled Ogleshied (9/10)
-Goose liver pate (8/10)
-Shortcake (6/10)
-Almond Tart (8/10)
-Pheasant & Duck pie (7.5/10)
-Chips (7/10)
-Mashed potato (8/10)
-Beef Onglet (7/10)
-Smoked haddock fish cakes (7.5/10)
-Crab & Mayo (8/10)

Overall our dining experience at Quo Vadis was enjoyable and none of the dishes disappointed. The menu is a bit limited, but offers sufficient choice for most. A good feature about Jeremy Lee's menus at Quo Vadis is that he changes them everyday depending on the produce he can source that day.

In total the bill at Quo Vadis came to £129.25 (including half a bottle of Sangiovese, bottle of water and service charge). Given the location (centre of Soho) the bill is not insanely high but still too expensive when all factors are taken into account.

“A gem in Soho”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Lovely art deco windows lead in to a lovely, friendly and atmospheric space. Lovely light nibbles for starters (potted bloaters and ham), gorgeous lamb sweetbreads and wintery kid leg. A discovery

“Delicious food and lovely atmosphere”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

I enjoyed a delicious mid-week evening meal here. The wine was fantastic and the food really tasty . It was also great to find some peace and quiet in a restaurant in the middle of Soho - after a long day at work the calm atmosphere and excellent service were much appreciated.
