The interior is an elegant mix of rich muted colours and the bar is a particularly popular place to meet. The delicious food is described as 'Coastal Cuisine' and dishes such as seafood, crustacea and a variety of specialities are available. Dishes includes Char-grilled shrimps with lime and chilli, lobster with tangy Goan pickle and fish curry with coconut. Quilon received a "Five Star Diamond Award" from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and was granted its first Michelin star in 2008.

“"Chic & Unique"”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

My wife and booked this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel, and boy they were spot on with there suggestion. I agree with a review on here that mentioned that we were greeted by a less enthusiastic young lady on the desk, but we were shown to our table, and we were then greeted by a waiter who took the time the describe most dishes, and was happy to answer any questions we had. My wife and I like Indian food, but where we live does not offer anything like what quilon does. If your the sort who likes Indian from a vast menu with about 38 different styles of madras etc, then this probably is not the place for you, if however you want great tasting inventive and very traditional Indian cooked food then your in for a treat. We shared a few dishes between us, as they offer on some of there courses small portion sizes, so this allows you to share but without being over indulgent, I can however highly recommend the Lamb shank, the meat was so tender it was like eating butter, it was a shear delight. The waiter was so attentive, making sure we were ok and well watered etc. the desert menu was not to our taste, so I opted for a Desert beer, and my wife chose the mint tea infusion from a good selection of various hot beverages. This place really was a delight to spend the evening in a relaxed and to be fair, informal setting but contempary and relaxed.

“Superb Indian food in contemporary setting”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Despite being greeted by a less that completely friendly girl at the front door, the restaurant completely won us over from arriving at our table.
The staff are attentive and pleasant and the food is fantastic.

“Avoid the 8 Course Beer & Food Tasting Menu! - Unless you're a heavy-weight boxer!”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

Whilst the food was decent and well presented, I cannot forgive them for getting the concept of a tasting menu so wrong: rather than serve 8 tasting courses, they essentially served 8 full courses! I am a big guy, with the biggest appetite out of pretty much everyone I know. Yet after 5 courses I was feeling extremely uncomfortably full (sick almost!)! The portion sizes definitely need to be reviewed, they were completely over-proportioned for an 8 course menu. Combining the fact that the portions were too big, together with the fact that the food was very rich was always going to spell trouble, but to top it off, you are expected to finish off half a bottle of strong (upto 8.5%) gassy beer with each course as well. I refuse to believe that anyone, other than a body-builder or heavy-weight boxer could even come close to finishing the food and drink offered with this menu! Service was ok, but we did have to top up our drinks ourselves on a few occassions.

“Our second visit was even better than the first!”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

We first ate here pre-theatre and enjoyed it so much that we vowed to return sometime so that we could savour the atmosphere and food with no deadlines to adhere to. The food was delicious and the starters, in particular were beautifully presented. We opted to share all the food we ordered and we enjoyed every mouthful. We think the food is reasonably priced for a restaurant of this standard in London, the drinks are expensive though and constituted more than half of our final bill!
