Description: The finest Italian cuisine comes to Covent Garden. Opened in October 1985, Orso is a wonderful restaurant in the heart of London's West End. From the beginning, the aim was to bring authentic Italian cuisine to Covent Garden and Orso delivers. Orso takes pride in using only the freshest and finest ingredients such as extra virgin olive oil, arugula, puntarelle, porcini mushrooms, buffalo mozzarella and white truffles, when in season and sourced in Italy. But it is not just about the ingredients; each meal is prepared to perfection, served on hand-painted Italian tableware designed by Designers Guild, and accompanied by a selection of fine Italian wines. Orso is the perfect destination for the London diner, offering bustling but attentive service, a lively atmosphere and a tempting menu.

“Good Italian in theater district”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Very busy theater area. Restaurant is downstairs so no windows. Makes for a liitle warmth. Very comfortable and not too noisy. Decor is plain. White table clothes. Now to the food. Appetizers/salads not too exciting. But main courses were quite good. Roast rump of lamb served pink and very tasty. Accompaniments of peas and Lima beans were ordinary. But don't let that stop you. My wife had the Scottish sea bass with roasted fennel and a bed of spinach. She raved about it. Service was very good, not overbearing and nicely paced. Sean is the manager and will take good care of you. Good convenient place for a tasty meal.

“Great service”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We were a large party including 8 children and an 85 year old but the service and friendliness were great and we did not feel out of place. The restaurant does appear quite "adult" when you first arrive which worried us a little but the food was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome.

“Excellent authentic Italian food”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

We were given a friendly welcome and offered a choice of tables. The staff were polite and professional. The courses came at just the right intervals. The food was very nice, with no complaints from anybody on our table of 5, in-fact everybody had nothing but praise I can recommend the Crab Tagliatelle it was excellent, also the Lemon Cake with strawberries was lovely.

“Lost some of it's sparkle ?”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Been a regular here for a number of years when am in town for theatres for pre or post the show. Went for a post matinee set menu dinner and felt that it had lost some of it's yummy factor. On the previous occasion, with my daughter, we had been wowed by the lovely fresh pasta; but what came when we ordered from the set menu and the children's menu felt a bit rushed and bland. I know they were busy but that shouldn't let down the food quality which has always been excellent here. The wine choice is good and the welcome and service on the whole very amenable. I just wander if they have lost the edge a little....

“Still a great place to eat before going to theatre”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

After so many years, it is still very good at presenting excellent food in an unhurried manner while still being mindful of your need to make a theatre performance--can even go back to have your dessert after the show.
