“Quality food in a good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

I often get my take away lunch from the cafe on teh ground floor so I was intrigued to see how a la carte restuarant upsairs would fare. It didn't disappoint. The menu choice was expansive enough without been detrimental to the quality of the food. The wine list offered an extensive and well chosen array of European and in particular Italian wines. The service was discreet and effeicient and the bill not wallet crushing. The view is uninspiring but the large paned windows let in alot of light making the whole room feel bigger than it is. Unlike the mass production feeling of the Bread Kitchen and also Babrecoea across the road in 1 New Change , Manicomio offers a quiet. relaxed and professional alternative. I would go back That's always a good sign.

“Great location, good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

Perhaps my 20th+ visit here and always good.

Special location in the Duke of York Square surrounded by fine shopping, the Saatchi Gallery and Kings Road. Can sit outdoors, under umbrellas, fine when sunny or behind the glass windscreen but better reserve. Or sit indoors in a comfortable air-conditioned environment.

Good menu of Italian food, good pasta dishes, good meat and fish offerings all at reasonable prices for SW3. Wine list offerings, mainly Italian, by the glass very good as well as by the bottle.

Service was prompt and attentive as usual

“Nothing wrong, but uninteresting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

We went there for lunch. The whole experience was nice, food was very good (especially the desserts) but the staff did not seem to be relaxed. It looked like a big nice place offering a fine dining, but after all it was uninteresting.

“Friendly and flexible dinner with friends, better than reports suggest”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Went without seeing other tripadviser reports which would have put us off. actually it was good evening, we ordered dishes not on the menu without issues, group drank a couple of bottles of wine - one of which was an oxidised white which was replaced without demur. Perhaps the bad reports had a positive effect ....
