Neighborhood: Mayfair
Description: The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

What a fantastic experience, food superb, staff very attentive and Michel Roux Jr took time to speak to every table.

Had waited a long time to try this renowned restaurant. Its not easy to get in. So expectations were probably too high. The service was excellent. The restaurant interior generally was OK and quite traditional but not really up with the Paris equivalents. Chose the tasting menu and the food was brilliant at times but some courses were also disappointing. For instance loved the Cheese soufflé but not the Baby Lamb dish. Still it was a great experience especially to witness the service team going about their duties in such a professional way. Would we go back? Probably not, Prefer the Waterside for French traditional dining in the UK

Visited Le Gavroche for lunch to celebrate a family birthday. There were 6 of us in total and it was our second visit having been for dinner previously.

There appeared to be more menu choices than our last visit and we were all looking forward to a great experience.

As another reviewer has mentioned the crab hollandaise had to be one of the standout dishes of the day and the chef's dessert plate was also excellent. The service from the entire team is to be applauded, at one point the butter dish next to me was replaced without me even being aware except when I went back to get more butter! It is this kind of service along with the food that makes Le Gavroche such a treat. Everyone is very welcoming and take the opportunity to spend time with the guests without being overbearing.

If you choose to visit Le Gavroche, enjoy every moment as restaurant experiences do not come much better than this!

A belated Christmas present and definately worth the wait. Everything was perfect, the setting, the impeccable service, the incredible food and the ambience. We were even treated by a visit to the table by the great Man himself who stopped for a chat. I was thrilled, and can't wait for a return visit.

Have been here a few times in the past, and have always been impressed, but this time had the set lunch menu at £55 - and it was tremendous. A selection was available for each of the three courses, and a choice of two red and two white wines to accompany. There was a good balance to the menu, with thoughful choices, immaculate presentation and the wide range of tastes and flavours that you should expect here. The gigantic cheeseboard is one of the dessert options too, so you don't feel like the poor relation even if surrounded by those lunching a la carte. The service is as impeccable as ever.
