“Super lunch !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

I had lunch here last week with 3 friends. Had never been before - one friend had visited several times on the recommendation of another friend and she now can't stay away !! We ate from the Evening Standard lunch menu - £35 - three courses plus glass of champagne. Alternatively there is a menu for £25 minus champagne - what value ! The food was wonderful - imaginative and beautifully presented. Stunning flavours. Service was just spot on - efficient but maintaining that discreet element which so many places cannot manage. Staff very friendly and welcoming on arrival too . Will now recommend to my friends - can't wait to return to treat my husband! Thank you.

“Delightful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

We visited Launceston Place on a surprise trip to London for my girlfriend and, having read various reviews of this restaurant, I decided to book. We were not disappointed. We both opted for the tasting menu - a surprise, since my partner is not usually adventurous - and every mouthful was a delight, from the hors d'oeuvres through to the petit fours with the coffee. I chose the wine pairing, which was superb - the sommelier certainly knew his wines! - my partner opting instead for a single wine.

The staff were attentive without being obtrusive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and convivial.

Admittedly, at over £300 for the two of us (and a 200 mile journey!) it's not a restaurant we can visit weekly but would not hesitate to return for a special occasion.

“Only for a special occasions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

We went there for our weeding anniversary . We eat from the fixed menu which is very good value at £25 per head . The food was imaginative and creative and well prepared and presented and the staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what they were serving . The wine is very good but expensive and this forces up the overall cost.
The ambience makes you feel you are having a special occasion and the restaurant is in a very nice part of Kensington.

“A superb lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

A perfect location for lunch before an afternoon concert at the Royal Albert Hall, which is only about 10 minutes walk away, especially with an exceptionally good value set menu which did not deprive us of the extra trimmings that one normally gets in a restaurant of this standard. The atmosphere was neither stuffy nor formal, and it was an infinitely more enjoyable experience than any of the alternatives in the area would have been - all our stars came into alignment.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant is tucked away but well worth hunting out. We chose to visit as they offer a vegetarian tasting menu, quite unusual.

We went with high expectations which were met on all fronts.

The welcome was warm and the service all night was attentive but not over the top. The food was beautiful to look at and tasted just as good.

Can't wait to visit again.
