Based on the awesome recommendations from TripAdvisor my husband and I made reservations here for a weekend trip to London. We were a bit early for our reservation, but they ended up seating us early. The staff was very nice, the manager even spent about 20 minutes at the end of our meal chatting with us, making recommendations for other places for us to eat while in town. The food was prepared nicely and we both really enjoyed our meals. We ended with the rhubarb dessert which was really good. All in all, we had a very nice dinner.

What a vibrant place, has a fun busy atmosphere that can get quite noisy.

Had Sunday roast with friends which was very good , the beef was cooked medium rare and was accompanied by a huge Yorkshire and all the trimmings.

The wine list was inventive and fairly priced. The service was good and the waiter was very helpful when we had questions or needed more drinks etc.

A good place for a roast and we will be returning again.

On a course in London, morning one ended at 1100 afternoon one started at 1400 so needed a good lunch.
Website and sign on the doors said it opened at 1100 but sadly they weren't open until 1145 they just said the change had only just happened.
I ordered a sweet cured mackerel with accompaniments, it was stunningly beautifully presented but oh so minimalist. Three bites and gone!
Main course as an Aberdeen Angus burger with hand cut chips and salad garnish, so do others cut chips with feet? Salad was again tiny and not dressed so a tad dull. The burger was nice although I wasn't asked how I liked it. Chips were good chips not wonderful chips. The bun was a very odd texture slightly spongy base firm top.
Desert was a black cherry crumble with almond nougat ice cream. The black cherry was lovely the crumble was an odd texture as it was not in any way set just granules on top. It was hard to judge the ice cream as the scoop was tiny.
Overall beautifully presented food of slightly above average flavour. Service was very good and extra touches were good.

We stopped here before a theater evening and were delighted with the whole experience. It's a small restaurant with a decidedly youngish crowd, but the food is sophisticated and delicious. Wait staff was prompt and pleasant. The menu is inventive, food nicely presented, the chef is clearly accomplished. We had a starter and a main -- as others have said, the portions are pretty generous. The restaurant has a very upbeat, energetic vibe; it's not noisy, but you hear lots of cheerful conversation and laughter.

This is the kind of place we put on our "go back" list for the next time we're in London!

We were a group of five foodies here for Sunday lunch. Two of us had the roast and it was delicious - everything cooked to perfection, best roast potatoes ever, a lovely piece of meat cooked medium rare and a delectable Yorkshire pudding the size of Buckingham Palace. Others had salads, which were also enjoyable. Puddings spectacular and beautifully presented. Wine selection impressive and portions good.

The service is friendly, prompt but non intrusive. The atmosphere is lovely but I imagine would get loud if full of diners. At 5 minutes' walk from Southwark tube, it is easy to get to.

It wasn't cheap, but it certainly was enjoyable and if I lived in London, I would become a regular.

For readers wondering why I have named my review in this way, the title refers to a Laurel and Hardy film made in 1931 entitled "Laughing Gravy" and this is a reference to their catchphrase.
