“Superb!”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Spent a wonderful evening in The Laughing Gravy with my husband. We loved it from the moment we arrived. The food was second to none, the atmosphere & decor welcoming and cozy yet buzzing with activity. The staff were attentive and helpful. To start we had the belly of pork and scotch egg which elicited much "oohing and ahhing". This was followed by the scallops and lamb which didn't disappoint. We loved the combinations of flavours and some of the more unusual choices on the menu. I finished with the peanut flapjack which had the right amount of sweetness to finish a meal without feeling I had overdone it (although has since been removed from the menu). The espresso martinis also went down a treat. We had a very relaxed evening and never felt rushed but I would definitely be rushing back!

“What a great restaurant and staff”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We eat fairly regularly at The Laughing Gravy, as it is handy for The Old Vic and is so much better in every way than anything else nearby. We have always had great food and service here, so decided to book it out on a Sunday evening for our joint Birthday Party. Emma and the staff were fantastic and arranged everything easily, efficiently and with no fuss. It could not have been easier. So many guests commented on the great food and we could not have been happier with the way that everyone was looked after. Thank you so much to Emma, the fab Chef and all the team. the Laughing Gravy Rules! (And I am not the easiest customer to please)!

“Blackfriars Hidden Finest...”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Fancy restaurant yet very relaxed.
Lots of rustic appeal and perfect lighting.
The staff were exceptionally attentive, informative and you really could tell that everybody in there was having a cracking time. Will go back at some stage.
A great place to unwind after a hard days work, with friends or colleagues or even alone.
Had the fish platter to start, and the butter poached, braised corn fed chicken with a lemon infused chicken and black truffle faggot for main which was out of this world. Great wines to compliment and the cheesecake was a wise decision!

“Southbank sweetspot”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed a late friday night dinner at the Laughing Gravy. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the food was good (the scallops a bit to far on the salty side though) and the black cherry crumble pie was simply delicius! It's the kind of place were you want to go with your friends and just hang out all night.
