Description: La Trompette opened in 2001 and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. We closed at the beginning of 2013 for a complete refurbishment, and have expanded to include a brand new kitchen, private dining and improved customer facilities. The new appearance has not changed the focus of the restaurant. The aim is as it always has been, to give all our guests the best possible dining experience from start to finish.

Wow, what a find. Stunning food, brilliant carte des vines, excellent service, knowledgeable French m'd. What's not to like.

Sour dough with lovely butter, superb crispy and marinated squid with black barley (?) and sumptuous sweet scallops to start.

Then fab cod and the total star of the show, the best guinea fowl I have ever eaten. Anywhere in the world. Crispy skin, succulent breast stuffed with crushed peas over perfect veg. Amazing.

Do not hesitate, GO!

I wanted to take my partner to a great value Michelin starred restaurant that didn't just have a tasting menu on offer.

At £55 a head for 3 Courses, I think I chose very well. The food and service where exceptional. Nothing a stuffy about the place and the service was not intrusive but at the same time, you were being taken care of.

My main meal was shoulder of suckling pig which was perfectly cooked and one of the best crackling I've experienced.

Additionally, my started was of a decent size and the mackerel was a good choice. You could smell the fish and the tomatoes as soon as the plate was put down!

The sommelier was charming and very accommodating. Didn't just go to expensive wine choices when I said I didn't want an obvious bottle of white wine from day France, England, Italy etc

Bill was just shy of £175 for 2 with a bottle of wine at £45 plus 12.5% service charge. Honestly, worth every penny!
