Description: La Trompette opened in 2001 and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. We closed at the beginning of 2013 for a complete refurbishment, and have expanded to include a brand new kitchen, private dining and improved customer facilities. The new appearance has not changed the focus of the restaurant. The aim is as it always has been, to give all our guests the best possible dining experience from start to finish.

Entertaining a customer, this is his regular place so we went here at his recommendation.

Food was very good, quality was high however portions were minimal.

My boyfriend and I went to La Trompette for Sunday lunch and loved every minute. We started with rhubarb bellinis, which I was skeptical about but turned out to be amazing. The food was delicious, definitely Michelin standard. My main course of sea bass, crab and linguine was particularly good. We opted for cheese instead of pudding and had a huge amount of fun choosing and trying the incredible selection of cheeses. The portions were perfect: we were full but not stuffed at the end of the meal. The service was a real highlight: our waiter (I think he was the head waiter) was friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and made the cheese course feel like an event in itself! Added to that, the value is unbeatable, particularly considering the location. It would easily be in my top 3 places in London if I ever wanted to treat or impress someone.

On arrival we were told you must wait 3 minutes. Why? Because your table is booked in 3 minutes. Really? at 9am we were allowed to sit down given menus and wine list. We asked waiter to order a bottle oh now you must wait for sommelier. 25 minutes later no sommelier its a desert waitress comes to take our order but all we want is a drink. Finally we order food is perfect couldnt fault. Dessert menus come we are ready to order nobody comes we call twice 3 times still nothing we have to ask manageress she is furious with young waiter who is so apologetic dessert finally arrives and is perfect. They really need to work on their service

We had the lunchtime menu, at an extremely reasonable £27 per head, and were not disappointed. The service was spot on, the restaurant was smart but had a relaxed atmosphere and the food was hard to fault.

All dishes were well cooked and presented beautifully and the death by chocolate desert was enough to put any chocolate lover into a coma!

Would highly recommend, especially for lunch.
