Description: La Porte des Indes is Indian cuisine on a grand scale, from the nine-metre waterfall cascading through the restaurant to the eight chefs in the kitchen. The food is just as spectacular, borrowing flavours from the former French colonies to add to its array of traditional dishes. Its central London location should mean you can spare some time for a visit to the Jungle Bar, where patrons are encouraged to throw peanut shells on the floor.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and very attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal but found it a bit pricey.

One of the best Curry meals I have ever had. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was very busy. Our waiter provided excellent recommendations. A little pricey for Indian food but great quality.

The variety of starters and main courses for both vegetarians and meat eaters is innovative and very tasty. There are some unusual dishes and combinations which work very well and the chefs are to be complimented. Sunday's buffet is excellent.

La Porte has some very interesting meals on offer, I have been several times and always order something different and have yet to be disappointed. The location is very central and the restaurant has a bit of a 'name' so it can be quite pricy- but it is not just a regular curry house and the dishes which have a French twist are delicious and the staff is friendly. Admittedly the interior is a bit dated, but that takes nothing away from the relaxing and 'special' experience.

Nothing worked for us here. The food was bad, ambience was stuffy and terribly hot, service was slow and barely existed.

Terrible outdated decor reminding one of third-class Indian restaurants. The food was largely flavorless and utterly boring.

Avoid at all costs specially if you are trying to celebrate anything special.
